James sneered and nodded. "Alright, go ahead and scream. Let's see if you can piss Grandpa off enough to kill him!"
Jessica was cornered, tears streaming down her face. "Do you even realize that because of you, I've been kicked out of both the hospital and the school! How can you still be so mean to me?"
James was taken aback. "What are you talking about? What happened? Weren't you fine yesterday?"
Jessica pushed him away, her eyes red with anger. "I don't need to explain anything to you. You can't help me anyway. But James, you're too much. In your mind, is it all just about love affairs? Professor Howard is a hundred times better than you. At least he's not as domineering and selfish as you, who always thinks only about yourself!"
With that, she turned and ran, leaving him standing there, stunned.

James took a moment to calm down. Thinking about what Jessica had said, he pulled out his phone and called Sean. "Find out what happened with Jessica's job."
He couldn't understand how hanging up on Nathan's call could have caused her to lose her schooling. He was completely baffled.
Soon, Sean got back to him. Jessica's situation had spread throughout the hospital, and it didn't take much to get the details.
James was shocked. "That's impossible. Jessica wouldn't do something like that."
He trusted Jessica's character and professional ability.
Sean reported, "But everyone is saying that Miss Evans failed to report a patient's issue to the senior doctor in time, which delayed treatment and led to the patient's death. Even the head of the cardiothoracic department was summoned by the hospital director because of this. Now, Miss Evans has been expelled from the school, just short of completing the withdrawal procedures."
James suddenly understood. 'The head of the cardiothoracic department, isn't that Nathan? Could it be that Nathan called Jessica this morning because of this? Then why did I see them hugging just now?'
Feeling agitated, James told Sean, "Check the surveillance or find any witnesses who can prove Jessica's innocence."
