Chapter 253 Let's Call the Police
That night, Jessica didn't go looking for James or Rose, as per John's meddling.
Next day after work, instead of heading back to the Evans residence, she made a beeline for James' villa.
Olivia was stoked to see her back but had a bit of worry in her eyes.
Jessica asked, "Where's James? Is he coming back today?"
Olivia hesitated and mumbled, "Well, Mr. Kelly asked me to whip up some nourishing soup. And I'm about to take it to the hospital for that woman."
Jessica's face tightened. She knew they had patched things up again and was ready to leave him. But hearing Olivia's words, she couldn't help but feel a sting of bitterness.
Thinking about how Rose had beaten John like that yesterday, Jessica's face turned icy, and she said, "Perfect, I'll go with you!"
Olivia snapped, "Mrs. Kelly, you better not go! Even I don't wanna see that smug woman. If you see her, it'll just piss you off more."
Jessica asked, "Why's she in the hospital? Something happen?"
"Well, you know it. She's just faking it to stay in the hospital!" Olivia said with disdain. "When I brought them breakfast this morning, I heard her whining to Mr. Kelly, saying she was upset 'cause someone pissed her off and made her have a miscarriage scare."
Olivia asked worriedly, "Mrs. Kelly, what's going on between you and Mr. Kelly? Could the kid in that woman's belly really be Mr. Kelly's?"
Jessica got it right away. She didn't wanna talk about it anymore. She said calmly, "Olivia, let's go. I'll go with you. I got something to discuss with them."
So, Jessica tagged along with Olivia to a top private gynecology hospital.
When they got there, James was sitting by the bed, peeling an apple for Rose. Rose's face was full of admiration as she gazed at him without moving.
Jessica coughed coldly, finally grabbing the attention of the two in the room.
James looked a bit surprised, probably not expecting Jessica to show up.
Olivia quickly explained, "Mrs. Kelly heard that Miss Morris was hospitalized, so she wanted to come and visit."
Jessica said, "Olivia, thank you, but there is no need to cover for me." Then she hid her sadness and walked straight into the room.
When she reached Rose's bedside, she suddenly raised her hand and gave Rose a hard slap.
"Ah!" Rose screamed. She covered her face in shock, looking at her in disbelief. She hadn't expected Jessica to dare to treat her like this in front of James.
James grabbed her hand, his tone tinged with anger. "What are you doing? Rose is pregnant now, don't you know that?"
Jessica nodded, her eyes sharp, and said through gritted teeth, "Of course I know! That's exactly why I slap her! Ask her what she did to my dad yesterday?"
Rose put on an innocent look and said, "Ms. Evans, it was clearly your father who came to my dance studio yesterday to slander me, scaring away all my students. I got so upset that I had a miscarriage scare, and my belly still hurts. If you don't believe me, you can check the surveillance footage to see if he came to me to cause trouble!"
Jessica sneered, "Hah, when it comes to twisting the truth and making up crap, no one can beat you!"
She laughed in anger and continued, "Then let's call the cops and let them investigate who hurt my dad like that! I don't believe it; can a pregnant woman escape the law's punishment?"
