Chapter 184 He Agreed to the Divorce (1)

James's voice was sharp. "Speak up! What's going on?"

Madison sighed. "Miss Morris has been binge-watching dramas, crying, and saying she's the third wheel ruining Mr. Kelly's family. Today, she said she wants to see you one last time before leaving Ocean City quietly. I can't stand seeing her like this. She's such a good person."

James was shocked Rose wanted to leave. He quickly opened the bedroom door. Rose, surprised, hid something under the bed.

James asked sternly, "What are you hiding?"

Rose, nervous, replied, "Nothing. James, can we talk? Just one last time." It was clearly a goodbye.

James crouched and pulled out a suitcase from under the bed. "You've packed. What are you planning?"

Rose threw herself into his arms, crying. "James, I can't bear to leave you, but I can't go on like this! I'm young, and I can't be a homewrecker. I'm too scared to face that others will come to know of this in the future."

James held her, feeling her pain. But thoughts of Jessica crept in.

If she wasn't cheating, she was messing around with Jack or threatening divorce.

Why was he hesitating?

James's expression hardened. "Who said you're the third party? I'll set things straight now!"

Rose understood and said, "James, if you can't tell Miss Evans, I will. She already hates me."

James wanted to refuse but was curious. Would Jessica still be calm if Rose told her?

So, he agreed.

Rose was excited but hid it. She leaned into him and whispered, "James, I'll learn to be a good Mrs. Kelly."

James remembered what Willie had said.

His eyes darkened. "Rose, you need to see Dr. Willie again. He's an expert on depression."

He didn't mention Willie's suspicions. He was reluctant to believe Rose was faking. Who would joke about their own health?

Rose felt uneasy. "I think the doctors here are good. No need to see Dr. Willie. Besides, he didn't help me anyway."

She always felt Willie was wise. Luckily, she could disguise well, so Willie didn't see through her.

Under James's insistence, Rose didn't resist too much to avoid suspicion. She had dodged Willie's exam last time. This time, she'd find fault with Willie so James wouldn't trust him again.

Meanwhile, Jessica left school in a daze, like she'd lost her soul.

Lily had called many times, saying Adam locked her at home in anger. Lily told her not to fear James, that she'd find a way to escape and help her fight James.

But Jessica knew she couldn't do that. Lily was her one and only good friend, helping her selflessly. How could she let Stewart Corporation go bankrupt?

So, she stopped answering Lily's calls and wandered aimlessly. James's villa felt like a prison, but she had to go back.

A red BMW stopped in front of her.

Rose got out, looking lively, not sick at all.

Around her neck was the necklace Jessica had longed for but never got.

The pink diamond sparkled, hurting Jessica's eyes.
