Chapter 17 My Husband is Coming to Pick Me Up

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to." Rose said insincerely, her eyes full of schadenfreude.
The store clerk quickly stepped forward and said, "Are your feet clean? Our bags are very expensive."
Jessica was dressed very plainly today, and the clerk didn't even give her a proper look.
"Watch yourself. If you can't afford it, stand back," the clerk said perfunctorily, then turned to Rose with enthusiasm, "Miss, please come this way. Our new season of collection are over here."
Rose pretended to be gracious and said, "You clean up here. I'll go try on some clothes."
After she finished speaking, she gave Jessica a smug look and turned to follow the clerk.
Jessica squatted down and began picking up the scattered items one by one.
"If you can't afford it, don't block the way. Only VIP card members can shop here," the clerk's voice came from behind, full of disdain and mockery.
Jessica took a deep breath, trying hard to suppress the anger in her heart. She told herself not to get angry, not to stoop to their level.
Just then, the clerk suddenly exclaimed "Oh!" and bumped into Jessica.
Caught off guard, Jessica stumbled and fell heavily to the ground.
"What are you doing?" Jessica shouted angrily, the pain in her wrist almost making her faint.
"You couldn't stand properly. How is that my fault?" the clerk said innocently.
Hearing the commotion, Rose leisurely walked over. Seeing Jessica on the ground, a cold smile appeared on her lips, "Oh, how did you fall like that? So careless."
Jessica struggled to get up but found her wrist in so much pain that she couldn't muster any strength.
"Oh dear, Miss Evans, are you alright? Maybe you're just too lacking in grace for people to recognize you as Mrs. Kelly," Rose mocked Jessica, then took out James's VIP card and generously swiped it.
The clerks, seeing the card, were all shocked, "Welcome, Mrs. Kelly. Would you like your clothes delivered to your home?"
Rose was clearly pleased to be addressed this way and had no intention of correcting them that Jessica was the real Mrs. Kelly.
At that moment, Jessica's phone rang.
Seeing that it was James calling, Jessica immediately remembered that the fifteenth of every month was the day they went back to the old house to dine with Gerald.
She deliberately pressed the speakerphone button in front of Rose.
James's voice came through, "Where are you? We need to go back to the old house today."
"Honey, I'm at Emerald Mall."
Jessica's voice was soft, with a hint of coquettishness.
James was stunned for a moment, completely unable to believe that the term of endearment had come from Jessica.
Who allowed her to call him that?
He was about to scold her, but Jessica had already hung up.
Seeing Rose's unpleasant expression, Jessica finally showed a satisfied smile like never before.
"Miss Morris, did you see that?" She shook her phone at Rose, "My husband is coming to pick me up. No matter what, the one my husband takes back to The Kelly Family's old house will always be me, Jessica!"
She stood up, took the VIP card from the clerk, and handed it to Rose, saying to the clerk,
"Pack up Miss Morris's purchases. Don't deliver them to The Kelly Family's villa."
With that, Jessica walked out of the mall.
After so many days of feeling stifled, she finally felt a sense of relief at that moment.
