Chapter 406 Forced Rose to Have an Abortion (4)
Jessica was forcibly dragged to the clinic, where the teacher ordered a blood test for her.
"Kylie, I..." Jessica hesitated, "Maybe we shouldn't check. I don't think it's possible. I've been divorced from him for so long!"
Kylie, both angry and anxious, said, "Do you have any common sense at all? You're a medical student, too. Does this have anything to do with being divorced or not? Jessica, I know you're scared, but can fear solve the problem? Are you really planning to wait until you're showing to find a father for the baby?"
Jessica's heart pounded violently in her chest.
She took a deep breath and, under Kylie's persuasion, went to the blood draw window together.
While waiting outside, Jessica was on the verge of tears.
She asked helplessly, "Kylie, what if I really am pregnant? What should I do?"
"Do what needs to be done!"
Kylie said angrily, "It's just as well that the other woman's baby is gone. You can tell James you're pregnant! If he's willing to take responsibility for the other woman, why can't he take responsibility for you? Now is the time for him to step up!"
Jessica listened in fear; she didn't want him to take any responsibility.
This marriage was over, and their relationship had become precarious.
Jessica didn't have the courage to continue or to return to that marriage.
The two of them waited in silence, nervously anticipating the blood test results.
After an agonizing hour, the blood test results finally came out.
Jessica didn't dare to look; Kylie took the report for her.
"How is it?"
She held her breath, looking at Kylie.
Kylie handed her the test report and said, "See for yourself."
The HCG level on the early pregnancy test was much higher than the reference value.
As a medical student, Jessica knew what this meant.
At this moment, her mind went blank, wishing it was all a dream.
But the reality was right in front of her. Jessica tightly clutched the lab report, completely unsure of what to do next.
Kylie, who often encountered cases of unplanned pregnancies during her time in the clinic, always thought it was someone else's problem.
But today, with the issue so close to home, Kylie was also worried.
She sighed and said, "Jessica, you really need to think this through. Although there's no rule against college students having children, you're applying for graduate school this year, and you have to graduate. There's a lot going on!"
"I know."
Jessica gently touched her lower abdomen; she hadn't felt anything before.
But seeing the test results, she really seemed to feel the presence of a small life.
Kylie reminded her, "But whether you decide to keep it or not, you have to tell James! This is his child. Even if you decide to have surgery, he needs to be there with you. He needs to know that you hurt your body because of him."
Jessica's mind was even more chaotic.
Should she really tell James?
Not to mention that they were already divorced.
Just thinking about the cold, resolute look James gave her earlier, Jessica felt she couldn't say anything to him.
Kylie pulled Jessica and said, "Come on, I'll take you to my teacher! She can help you figure out how far along you are."
