Chapter 110 Jack Has Feelings For Her?
Jessica curled up on the couch, hugging herself. "I just want to forget it. Every time I bring it up, it feels like reopening a wound. I'm not holding a grudge not because I'm weak; it's because I don't want to stoop to their level and seek revenge. I don't want anyone to know."
Lily, concerned, said, "Okay, we won't bring it up again. Let's just move on."
Jessica had been in a funk lately, so Lily drove her to and from class.
After school, Jessica saw Jack's flashy sports car at the gate. He handed her some desserts and awkwardly said, "Jessica, can we talk? I want to explain what happened."
Jessica was a bit surprised. There was something off about Jack that she couldn't quite put her finger on.
To play it safe, she didn't take the desserts he offered and frowned. "You should talk to Pearl. It has nothing to do with me."
Jessica took a step back, making it clear she wanted nothing to do with him. This action cut deeply into Jack's heart. He said, "If I had known what Pearl was like, I would have stayed far away from her and never gotten entangled in her mess."
Jessica replied coldly, "You don't need to explain. And don't pick me up anymore; it's a hassle."
Jack's hand hung in mid-air. The arrogance that usually defined him had vanished, leaving him speechless and vulnerable in front of Jessica. After stuttering for a while, he finally said softly, "I just wanted to thank you for helping me with Grandpa."
Just then, Lily's car pulled up. "Jessica, get in!"
Lily noticed Jack and asked, "Is this your friend?"
Jessica awkwardly said, "This is James's brother."
Jack, disappointed, still kept his composure. "Jessica, do you have plans?"
"Yeah, my friend and I have plans." Jessica nodded and got into Lily's car.
Jack stood there, watching them drive away, still clutching the desserts he had painstakingly chosen for her. A storm of emotions swirled within him.
Lily saw Jack in the rearview mirror and laughed, "Jack's really something. He's still watching us."
Jessica felt frustrated. Could it be, as Pearl said, that Jack had feelings for her?
Lily noticed her pale face. "What's wrong? What did Jack want? You've never mentioned him before."
Jessica shook her head. "It's nothing."
Lily drove toward Golden Plaza. "Let's go shopping and check out some jewelry."
Jessica sighed helplessly. "You already have a closet overflowing with clothes and accessories. More shopping?"
Lily pouted. "You don't get it. It's about that famous jewelry designer Karen. She released a new masterpiece this year called Pink Heart, which is supposedly one-of-a-kind. It just arrived at Golden Plaza for an exhibition, and I want to see it."
Lily continued, "The Pink Heart is indeed a stunning set comprising a necklace and a bracelet. The pink diamond used is so incredibly rare and precious that there simply wasn't enough material left to craft a ring."
