Chapter 80 We're Different

"We're just too different. I love spicy food, but you're allergic to chili. I like busy places, but you think they're dirty and chaotic."

As she spoke, she asked the owner for another plate of Mexican food.

When people are mad, they tend to eat more.

She thought her anger would drive James away.

But Jessica didn't expect James, who was a bit of a neat freak, to actually pick up a knife and fork.

Jessica saw him fork a piece of meat and warned, "What are you doing? You're allergic to chili, remember?"

James looked at her calmly and said, "Either you come with me, or I'll eat spicy food with you. In a relationship, someone has to compromise, right?"

Jessica snapped, "Do whatever you want! Don't think you can threaten me with this."

"I'm not threatening you," James said, then ate the piece of meat.

The spiciness hit him, and he quickly took a sip of soda from Jessica's cup.

Jessica was stunned.

She never thought James would eat here and even drink from her cup.

James smiled and said, "I didn't expect this place to look so plain, but the food is really good."

Under Jessica's surprised gaze, he ate some more.

He hadn't eaten much dinner, and seeing Jessica enjoy her food made him hungry too.

But soon, his hand, allergic to chili, started breaking out in hives.

Jessica couldn't stand it anymore. She stopped being mad, her eyes filled with concern.

She cried anxiously, snatching the knife and fork from his hand, "Are you crazy? Do you want another allergic reaction like last time?"

James smiled slightly. He reached out and pinched her cheek, asking, "So, will you come back with me?"

Jessica couldn't refuse him and reluctantly agreed.

They left the Mexican restaurant and got into James's car.

Jessica was still worried and said, "I'll go to the pharmacy to get you some anti-allergy medicine. You need to take it now."

"It's okay, we can take it when we get back. I know my own body." James stopped her but didn't start the car immediately.

Thinking about what happened today, he squinted his eyes slightly and asked, "Jessica, are you very popular at school?"

Jessica knew he was talking about Leo.

She rolled her eyes at him and sneered, "Now, you're more popular at our school than I am."

James didn't care about her sarcasm. He suddenly reached out and pinched her chin, making her look at him.

"Jessica, should I let you go? So you won't miss out on finding happiness."

His deep eyes stared at her intensely, not joking. Jessica felt her heart tighten but didn't want him to see her disappointment and sadness.

She smiled self-deprecatingly, "Isn't the beginning and end of our relationship always in your hands? Do I have the right to choose whether you let me go or not?"

James's lips curved into a slight smile. Although he was smiling, his tone was cold, "Good that you know!"

Jessica suddenly realized he was just testing her.

Yes, with someone as possessive as James, even if he didn't want something, he wouldn't allow others to touch it.

Sensing Jessica's sadness and sorrow, James suddenly softened his tone and said lightly, "If one day I really let you go, I will personally help you find a man who can take care of you for life. But that Leo today, he's too immature! He's not suitable for you."
