Jessica felt so touched she almost cried. Did what James just said mean that he was going to protect the Evans family for her sake?
Did that mean she was important to him?
James smiled and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Jessica thought, 'He's amazing, but he's not mine. Even if he bought me that pink diamond necklace, it doesn't mean anything. He's still going to divorce me. Rose will never give up!'
Jessica blinked her teary eyes and murmured, "I'm starting to feel reluctant to leave you."
James was a little taken aback, and his heart felt as if it had been gently scratched by something.
He leaned down, kissed her forehead, saying, "Then stay with me forever, okay?"
Jessica looked at him, confused. What did 'forever' mean? If they divorced and she stayed by his side, wouldn't she just be like Rose, a mistress?
Meanwhile, Pearl was driven back to the Evans family by the Kelly family's driver, feeling proud.
She strode in confidently and addressed her parents, "Mom, Dad, when are you available? Gerald mentioned he wants to invite you over to discuss my marriage with Jack!"
Joan got excited and stammered, "Really? Has Gerald agreed? He even invited us personally."
Pearl glanced at John, who looked stern, and said proudly, "Yeah. Today, even James and Jessica had to behave in front of me and didn't dare to act out!"
Joan's voice trembled with excitement, "Oh, Pearl, you're amazing! You'll be the wife of Jack of the Kelly family, and I'll be an in-law of the Kelly family! Pearl, you made me so proud! I didn't raise you for nothing!"
Joan no longer had to swallow her pride at home. Pearl had made her proud, and now she openly showed her ambition and dislike for Jessica.

Joan got furious and cursed, "Why can Jessica marry James, but Pearl can't marry Jack and be happy? They're both your daughters, and you're so biased! John, what are you thinking?"
"Think what you want, but I'm not going!" John said angrily, "Pearl was pregnant before marriage and using it to threaten others. I can't stand this!"
Pearl suddenly laughed. "Dad, are you afraid that if I marry into the Kelly family, my status will surpass Jessica's? To be frank, my mom and I have been putting up with her nonsense for years! Now, I've finally married Jack and am carrying the Kelly family's first grandchild. Jessica's going to face a lot of hardships from now on! I won't let her off!"
