Chapter 78 My Husband

She got out of the car after speaking.

Casually, she left a medicine box in James's car.

James didn't notice the box after Rose left.

He slammed the steering wheel, feeling regretful and guilty.

He should have gone after Rose.

They loved each other. She had been with him since college.

What did she do wrong? Why should she bear his negative emotions?

But for some reason, he took out his phone and instinctively dialed Jessica's number.

When Jessica saw it was him calling, she hung up and turned off her phone.

She continued eating Mexican food, her nose turning red, and her eyes following suit.

Kylie couldn't help but ask, "Was it him calling? Jessica, what's going on? I also think that man doesn't look like your brother. But then, why did another woman suddenly appear out of nowhere?"

Jessica gave a bitter smile, "If I tell you my secret, will you betray me?"

Kylie was slightly surprised and said seriously, "If you're willing to tell me your secret, it means you consider me a friend. I grew up in a poor family and was very competitive, so no one wanted to be friends with me. You're my first friend, and I won't betray a friend."

Jessica didn't hesitate any longer, maybe because she had been holding it in for too long and needed to vent and release.

She slowly said, "You were right today, that person is indeed James. He's not my brother, nor my boyfriend."

Kylie looked at her in confusion, "Then who is he to you?"

"He's..." Jessica found it hard to say, and whispered, "My husband."

Kylie spat out a mouthful of water, choking herself.

After a long time, she confirmed in shock, "You mean that man is really James? The president of the Kelly Corporation? Oh my God, Jessica, even TV dramas wouldn't dare to write this!"

Jessica's eyes grew redder, and her eyes became moist. She said bitterly, "He's just my husband, in the literal sense, nothing more."

Kylie, recalling the absurd novels about wealthy families she had read before, curiously asked, "Then the woman on the playground today, is she the third party?"

Jessica said with a bitter smile, "They were college classmates, and they love each other very much. Maybe that woman was right, the one who isn't loved is the third party."

Kylie felt the information was too overwhelming to digest all at once.

She tentatively asked, "What are you going to do in the future? You're still so young, are you just going to endure him finding women outside? And that woman is too arrogant, daring to act like that in front of you!"

Jessica didn't say anything, stuffing food into her mouth in frustration.

Kylie said worriedly, "Take it easy."

Only then did Kylie realize that behind all the glamour, there might be hidden sorrows unknown to others.

Although she used to be jealous of Jessica, she mostly envied her.

Envied her good family background, good grades, and good popularity.

But now, she suddenly felt very sympathetic towards Jessica and a bit heartbroken for her.

Kylie said seriously, "If you ever feel upset, feel free to vent to me. I won't betray you."

"Thank you." Jessica sniffed and smiled, "I feel much better after talking. At least I don't have to hide it from everyone."

Kylie said a bit awkwardly, "You're thanking me? I did so many bad things to you before."
