Chapter 75 James Got Jealous
James's eyes were icy, but a faint smile tugged at his lips. That was his go-to look when he was pissed.
He asked calmly, "What bet did you guys make?"
Leo, oblivious to the chill in James's eyes, grinned and said, "If our team wins, Jessica becomes my girlfriend."
James's smile widened. "Alright, I'll join the other team. If you win, I'll talk to Jessica for you."
Leo was stunned. "You?"
James might look young, but his demeanor and age set him apart. Wasn't he a bit old for this? Could he even keep up?
Leo hesitated. If he lost, would Jessica think he was bullying her brother? But James was already rolling up his sleeves. "Let's start!"
Leo, confident, said, "Sir, are you serious? We're up two to one. One more win and it's over!"
Jessica was worried. He was almost thirty. Could he really compete with guys in their early twenties? Did he have to embarrass himself in front of everyone?
Most of the girls cheered for Leo. "Go, Leo! We believe in you!"
But some were already swooning over James. "Oh my God, Jessica's brother is so classy, so charming, so manly! If he wins, I'm his fan for life!"
Amidst the chatter, James and Leo stepped onto the court, eyes locked with determination.
The whistle blew.
The ref tossed the ball, and the game was on.
Jessica held her breath, eyes glued to James, the most dazzling figure on the court.
James moved like lightning, dribbling past Leo, leaping, and slamming the ball through the hoop. The crowd erupted in cheers.
Jessica clapped instinctively, blending in with the fans.
Kylie noticed and whispered, "He's your boyfriend, isn't he? You don't look at a brother like that."
Jessica blushed. "Hum," she replied, eyes still on the court.
Kylie giggled. "Before he showed up, you were barely watching. Now you can't blink. But seriously, he's so handsome. Leo doesn't stand a chance!"
No one expected James, in his business attire and dress shoes, to be so agile, completely outclassing Leo.
As the game went on, sweat beaded on Leo's forehead. He'd underestimated his opponent!
In the following rounds, James dominated, leading his team to three straight wins. Leo's team was crushed.
James stood in front of Leo, ball in hand, and smirked. "Kid, before you chase a girl, work on yourself first. Otherwise, you'll just embarrass yourself."
Leo glared at James, eyes burning with intensity.
