Chapter 129 Miscarriage (4)

"Wait, are you saying the blood is Pearl's?" Jessica's heart pounded with anxiety. She muttered. "No way. She seemed perfectly fine when she was giving you a hard time. How could she suddenly start bleeding? Maybe it's just her period and she's not pregnant at all."

If that's the case, Pearl tricked the Kelly family into marriage. Once the lie is exposed, what would Gerald think of the Evans family? He might even think Jessica is as deceptive as Pearl.

Jessica wanted to tell John right away.

Mary stopped her. "Miss Evans, you can't go now. Without proof, Mr. Evans won't believe you. He might think you're trying to cause trouble between him and Pearl."

Jessica was frantic. "But what do we do? We can't just let Pearl mess up the Evans family."

She thought about asking James for advice, but he had already flown abroad after lunch at the old house.

Mary reassured her, "Miss Evans, don't worry. I'll keep an eye on them. If I see anything suspicious, I'll let you know right away."

Jessica held Mary's hand tightly and said, "Mary, you've been through so much. I don't bear to see you stay with the Evans family any longer. Come back with me, or retire back home. I'll make sure you have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life."

Mary looked at her with affection. "Mrs. Evans was so kind to me. But I've watched you grow up, and I can't leave you. I can't go back with you now. We need to figure out what Pearl and Joan are planning. If they pose a threat to you or the Evans family, we need to be ready to counteract it."

After a heartfelt discussion with Mary, Jessica reluctantly agreed to let her stay for now. However, she promised herself, 'Once this is over, I'll bring Mary to live with me and never let her suffer again.'

After a meltdown at the hospital, Pearl had to accept she lost her baby.

Joan spent the entire night in a state of anxiety, but she didn't dare rush to the hospital, fearing John might find out.

At dawn, she left home to bring Pearl some supplements.

Pearl cried, gritted her teeth, "Mom, what do I do? It's all Mary's fault. She must be Jessica's spy! If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have lost my baby. She spilled the cleaning water on the floor on purpose!"

Joan quickly hushed her. "Pearl, keep your voice down. Even if she did it on purpose, we have to let it go. If we make a fuss, everyone will know about the miscarriage."

Pearl sobbed, "But I hate her! I was so close to becoming Jack Kelly's wife! Now that the baby's gone, how do I explain this to the Kelly family? How can I get Jack to marry me now?"

Just then, her phone rang. Pearl couldn't believe it; it was Jack calling.
