Chapter 436 Often Unable to Resist (2)
Jessica gratefully thanked the doctor, feeling a sudden sense of relief and survival.
After leaving the consultation room, she gently touched her belly, a faint smile of contentment appearing on her lips.
She silently said in her heart, "Baby, thank you for not leaving me."
Seeing her like this, Kylie seemed to understand something and said, "Weren't you thinking about having an abortion before? What happened? You don't have that thought anymore? You looked so worried today, afraid something might happen to the baby."
Jessica smiled sheepishly and softly said, "The longer this baby stays in my body, the more important he becomes to me. I feel like I can't live without him."
Kylie looked at her with concern and said, "But even now, James still doesn't know you have his child. If he knew, maybe he wouldn't treat you like that. Besides, it won't be long before your belly starts to show. By then, even if you want to hide it, you won't be able to."
Jessica still didn't have the courage to take that step.
She sighed and said, "Let's take it one step at a time. I'm afraid he's still angry with me. After all, his first child died because of me."
Kylie accompanied her out of the hospital.
Unexpectedly, Jack immediately got out of the car, looking like he had been waiting for her for a long time.
Jessica was startled and hurriedly put the medical records into her bag, asking, "Jack, why are you here?"
Jack said with a serious expression, "I want to talk to you alone."
Seeing this, Kylie quickly said, "Jessica, I'll go now. See you tomorrow."
She looked worried and signaled Jessica to hide the medical records.
Jack didn't suspect anything because his focus was entirely on winning Jessica back.
"Jessica, there's a coffee shop near the hospital. Let's go there and talk."
Jack personally opened the car door for her, inviting her to get in.
Jessica kept a polite distance and said, "No, I don't want to drink coffee lately. Whatever you want to talk about, let's do it here. I don't want to cause any more misunderstandings."
Jack had no choice but to nod and said, "Alright, let's go to the garden behind the hospital and talk."
So, the two of them went to the hospital's back garden.
"Jessica, how have you been lately?"
Jack looked at her longingly and said, "I heard you divorced James. That's good. After all, you bravely took the first step."
Jessica frowned, not knowing what Jack meant.
Although she didn't understand much about the company's affairs, she knew that Gerald didn't have much time left. Jack's return at this time couldn't be without purpose.
She was afraid that saying the wrong thing would implicate James.
So, she remained silent, her clear eyes calmly looking at him.
Jack could see that Jessica wanted to protect someone, and he couldn't help but feel a bit jealous and resentful.
So, he decided to be blunt, "Since you're divorced, why repeat the same mistake and get involved with him again? Now that grandpa is dying, James wants to get the company, so he has to use you to please grandpa. But I know you're not that kind of person; you're just being used by him."
Jessica coldly said, "Visiting grandpa in the hospital is something I do willingly. He's been so good to me. It's only right for me to take care of him in his final days. No one is using me!"
