Chapter 163 The Diamond Is Synthetic

After she spoke, she turned and walked toward the villa.

Jack watched her go, feeling a mix of reluctance, heartache, and frustration.

Since he fell in love with her, he blocked all other women on Facebook and cut off most social interactions.

But Jessica never gave him a second glance.

And James? He could mess around with other women while keeping Jessica stuck at home.

Jack wondered, 'If Jessica knows how I feel, will she choose me? Will she even divorce James?'

With that thought, he decided to confess his feelings to Jessica once the situation with Pearl was resolved.

Back in her bedroom, Jessica opened Jack's gift and gasped.

"So beautiful." She admired the bracelet in the box, the pink diamond in the middle sparkling even in the dim light.

She didn't know much about expensive jewelry, but she couldn't resist its beauty. She put it on and felt the diamond's liveliness.

Jessica thought, 'This doesn't look cheap, does it?' She hesitated and called Jack.

"Jessica, I just got home," Jack answered with a smile. "Do you like the gift?"

Jessica said softly, "I do. But it looks expensive. Is it a diamond?"

Jack reassured her, "Don't worry, it's not expensive. The diamond is synthetic."

Jessica sighed in relief. "No wonder it's so bright. I heard synthetic ones are even brighter than natural ones. It's really nice."

"Yeah, natural ones aren't this perfect," Jack said. "As long as you like it, it's perfectly fine."

Jessica smiled and thanked him, "Why would I mind? It's beautiful. Thank you!"

"Stop saying this. Get some rest," Jack said, his tone affectionate. "Good night, Jessica."

The next day, Jessica wore the bracelet all day. It was too beautiful to take off.

While doing experiments, she often glanced at the sparkling pink diamond on her wrist.

Sometimes, she wistfully thought how nice it would be if James had given it to her.

In the evening, Lily called her, "Jessica, my dad got two tickets to the debutante ball tonight. Let's go together?"

Jessica replied, "You go ahead. I'm not interested."

Lily insisted, "Come on! You used to dance so well. Show off a bit! All the high society people of Ocean City will be there. If you ever divorce James, you'll need to find someone else!"

After persistent persuasion, Jessica agreed.

Lily took her to her usual salon to pick out a dress and do her makeup.

The stylists couldn't help but praise, "Miss Stewart, your friend is as naturally beautiful as you are."

Lily chose a white off-shoulder mermaid dress, making her look sexy and charming.

Jessica wanted something white or low-key, but the stylist suggested, "How about this black strapless cocktail dress? Your innocent look will contrast nicely with the black. Trust me, it'll be eye-catching."
