Sean's words cut through Rose like a knife, shattering her facade and pride.
How could she let this happen?
How could she let an assistant walk all over her?
Back when James adored her, Sean used to grovel at her feet.
Everything that was hers was now handed over to Jessica.
Rose screamed, "Get out! I don't need you here, just get out!"
Sean scoffed, muttering under his breath about how ungrateful she was.
If it weren't for James's orders, he wouldn't be here either!
He'd much rather be at home with his wife.
He stepped out and told the guards at the door, "Keep an eye on things here. I'm leaving. Let me know if anything happens."
As Sean got into the elevator, Ambrose watched from a distance.
He felt both angry and heartbroken.
Even now, Rose was still hung up on James.
But now, even James's assistant dared to walk all over her. What was she still holding on to?
Whatever James could give her, he could give too!
And whatever James couldn't give, he could still provide!
In the hospital room, Rose kept calling Pearl over and over.
That plan should have been foolproof. With so many people, how could they not take down one Jessica?
She couldn't believe it!
But no matter how many times she called, Pearl's phone wouldn't connect.
Calling Joan was the same—no answer.
Rose grew increasingly anxious.
What had gone wrong? Why weren't either of them answering her calls?
Just then, a cold voice came through, "They won't be answering you anymore. From now on, that mother and daughter won't exist in this world."
Rose was horrified, looking at him as if she had seen a demon. "Why are you here? What do you mean by that? What happened to Pearl and her daughter?"
Ambrose walked towards her step by step, slowly leaning down, his stern face close to hers, and said word by word, "I threw them into the sea to feed the fish."
"You!"
Rose's heart skipped a beat in fear. The next second, she demanded, "Why did you do that!"
Ambrose sneered and retorted, "What do you think? Bribing my people at the Skyline Club right under my nose, pulling these little stunts—you really think I'm an idiot? I can turn a blind eye to some things, but you're pushing it."
Rose suddenly realized that Ambrose knew everything.
It seemed that damn manager had betrayed her.
So, she immediately put on a pitiful face, crying, "Ambrose, don't be mad. It's not what you think. The reason I did that to Jessica is because she's getting back together with James. If they remarry, the Kelly Family's assets will have nothing to do with me. How can I help you take over the Kelly Family then?"
A slap landed on Rose's face.
The next second, Ambrose grabbed her chin, saying word by word, "Do you really think I believe your lies? You know very well whether you want James's heart or to help me take over the Kelly Corporation! Just because I don't expose you doesn't mean I don't know!"
