Chapter 572 Jessica is Missing (1)
Jessica covered her mouth, staring at Rose in horror.
After a long pause, she finally asked, "What are you doing here?"
It was so late, and Jessica felt a deep sense of dread seeing her there.
Could it be that Rose had lost her mind and come here to kill her?
To her surprise, Rose just chuckled softly and said, "You don't need to be scared. I'm here to tell you something. Aren't you curious about why your dad suddenly committed suicide?"
Jessica was instantly shocked, looking at her in disbelief.
Rose took a step closer, her face becoming more twisted with each word, "It was James! Ever since the Evans Corporation hit financial trouble, he had been planning this. On the day your dad died, he was with me, having the time of his life!"
Jessica shook her head, glaring at her, "You're lying! That's impossible!"
Even though she had issues with James, she couldn't believe he would harm John.
Because she remembered all the good things James had done for her.
That's why she was convinced Rose was trying to drive a wedge between her and James.
Jessica calmly said, "You don't need to waste your efforts. Whether you came here tonight or not, I was already planning to leave James. So, you can rest easy."
Rose sneered, "Don't you think your dad's death is suspicious? He was fine before, so why would he suddenly commit suicide? I admit, James loves you. But he only loves you! Don't forget, your dad had his driver hit me, causing irreversible damage to my leg. I can never dance again. James remembers that!"
Jessica's heart trembled slightly, but she still didn't believe it.
She looked at Rose mockingly and said, "Don't you think your story is a bit far-fetched? I know exactly what James has done for me and for the Evans family. I won't believe he's the one who killed my dad just because of a few words from you. Whoever harmed my dad, it wasn't James!"
"Really?"
Rose then took out her phone and played a video.
A familiar yet strange voice echoed in the quiet room.
"John went to see you, and after he came back, he was acting paranoid. I know it's his karma! But no matter what you do to John, remember, don't touch a hair on Jessica's head."
"Yes, I won't interfere with John's matters anymore, but I hope you keep this a secret forever. I never want Jessica to know."
The short video, just a few seconds long, exploded in Jessica's mind like a thunderclap.
Those few words shattered all her trust and understanding.
Watching the cold and resolute figure in the video, how could this be the James she knew?
Rose smiled and said, "This was when James came to see me abroad. He was on the balcony making a call, and I secretly recorded it. Later, I asked him why he did it. He said he couldn't let me suffer in vain. You are you, and your dad is your dad. He wouldn't let your dad off the hook!"
Jessica felt like her soul had left her body. She shook her head desperately, "No, no, he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't!"
"Having a child with your enemy, sleeping next to your father's killer every night. Jessica, you really are foolish!"
Rose kept replaying the video, making sure every word was etched into Jessica's mind.
