Chapter 541 Will Never Know Who the Biological Parents Are? (3)

Right now, she had only one belief: she needed to know her true identity.

If she wasn't John's daughter, then whose child was she?

Where did she really come from?

Despair and confusion engulfed her layer by layer.

Jessica clutched Louisa's hand, pleading, "Please, tell me what's going on. Why has no one ever mentioned this to me all these years? Tell me, please!"

But Louisa showed no trace of familial affection and shook her off.

Louisa's eyes were cold as she said, word by word, "I told you, I won't tell you anything! Now leave, and don't ever set foot in The Evans Villa again. No one here welcomes you!"

As soon as Louisa finished, Joan immediately called the security guards, "What are you waiting for? Get her out of here! And don't let her in again."

Meanwhile.

James had been waiting for Jessica outside the hospital for a long time.

He had called her countless times, but no one answered.

As time ticked by, James grew increasingly anxious.

He got out of the car and headed to the department where Jessica worked.

But her classmates said she had left early that morning, and it had been almost an hour since she left.

James looked at his watch and then at his phone, filled with unanswered calls, feeling more and more uneasy.

When he got back to the villa, he immediately asked Olivia, "Has Jessica come back?"

"No," Olivia replied, puzzled. "Doesn't Mrs. Kelly usually have lunch at the office cafeteria?"

James felt even more unsettled.

Could something have happened to Jessica?

Otherwise, she wouldn't have disappeared so suddenly, missing such an important event without any response.

The thought made James panic.

He was so worried that he wanted to go out and look for her right away.

Just then, the sound of the front door unlocking caught his attention, and he looked up.

It was Jessica.

She walked in with her head down, looking despondent, ignoring everyone as she moved forward.

James, both angry and worried, couldn't hold back any longer. He grabbed her and demanded, "Where have you been? Why didn't you answer your phone?"

Jessica snapped out of her daze, took out her phone from her bag, and saw numerous missed calls, all from him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't hear it. I'm a bit tired, I need to rest," she said apologetically.

She pulled away from James and headed upstairs.

"Stop right there!"

James called out sternly, "Today was such an important day, and you just disappeared without a word. Don't you think you owe me an explanation?"

Jessica sniffled, her voice choked with emotion, "Today is my dad's 'remembrance day,' and I forgot, too caught up in my issues."

Hearing this, James was taken aback.

He didn't say another word of reproach, just watched her walk upstairs.

Back in her bedroom, Jessica thought about what Louisa had said today and Louisa's attitude towards her all these years.

How could she be a real granddaughter?

But if she wasn't an "Evans," then what was her real last name?

Where were her real parents?

Jessica sat on her bed, curling up into a ball, burying her head in her knees, tears streaming down uncontrollably.
