Rose stared at him, terrified, fearing his grip would tighten around her neck again.
This Ambrose was a lunatic, capable of anything!
She cautiously asked, "So, you threw Pearl and her daughter into the sea. What about Jessica? What happened to her?"

Ambrose's face darkened, and he said slowly, "Rose, don't try to provoke me. For the sake of you giving birth to my child, I'll let you go today. But if you dare to do anything to Jessica again, I'll tell James the truth about the child's parentage and how you took advantage of that night to sleep beside him!"
Rose trembled with fear.
