Chapter 297 Took Pearl Back to the Villa
James locked his eyes on Pearl and snapped, "Why you?"
Pearl didn't dare mess with him. Her and Joan's lives were in his hands; they were like ants he could crush anytime.
So, she quickly blurted out, "I'm sorry, Mr. Kelly. I walked into the wrong room. I'll leave now."
Just as she turned to go, James barked, "Stop there!"
Pearl froze mid-step, her voice shaky, "Mr. Kelly, anything else?"
"Come over here," James ordered, his face a stone mask.
Pearl had no choice but to shuffle over, shaking like a leaf.
James grabbed her chin, looked her over, and asked, "Should I take you back with me?"
Pearl stared at him, wide-eyed, then pleaded, "Mr. Kelly, I know I messed up. Please, let me go."
"You don't want to?" James's voice dripped with menace, "Would it be so bad to be with me?"
Why did all these women keep their distance from him?
Was he really that terrifying?
Pearl couldn't read James' mind. She forced a smile and said sweetly, "Mr. Kelly, of course I want to be with you, but you already have Jessica."
Hadn't James been all about Jessica before?
Could it be he ditched her now?
Thinking this, Pearl got a bit braver and snuggled into his arms.
Her voice turned soft. "If I go back with you and Jessica finds out, she'll kill me, won't she?"
"Are you that scared of her?" James sneered, pinching her cheek, "When you were messing with her before, you seemed pretty tough."
Pearl's heart skipped a beat, even more confused about James' intentions.
Could it be Jessica had complained to him again, and he was here to mess with her?
While Pearl was freaking out, James coldly said, "I'll give you one more chance. Do you want to be with me, or stay here?"
During her time in the grimy Skyline Club, Pearl had been used by countless men.
Now, she desperately wanted someone to protect her, someone to shield her from this hell.
She never thought the protector she longed for would be the very guy who threw her into this place, James.
But now, Pearl felt she'd do anything to get out of here.
Seizing the moment, she suddenly dropped to her knees before James and begged, "Mr. Kelly, I'll follow you, even if it means having no status. Please, get me out of here."
So, in the dead of night, James took her back to the villa.
For Pearl, it felt like a dream.
The next morning, when Jessica saw James coming out of another room with Pearl in his arms, she was completely floored.
She almost lost her balance.
Seeing Jessica's reaction, Pearl felt a rush of satisfaction.
She leaned against James' chest, smirked at Jessica, and said, "Jessica, long time no see."
Jessica stood there, stunned.
