Chapter 457 Seeing His True Colors (3)
Michael was worried for him and said, "I initially became the legal advisor for The Kelly Corporation because of you. In the future, I don't want to work for someone as incompetent as Jack!"
James's gaze darkened, and his tone was extremely gloomy, "I just want to see how far they can go. This will also determine what kind of consequences they will face in the future!"
When it came to playing power games, Michael absolutely admired James. He had always known how shrewd this 22-year-old who took over The Kelly Corporation was.
Michael shook his head and said, "Honestly, I don't quite understand what you mean. You're letting them run amok in the company. Aren't you afraid it will affect The Kelly Corporation's performance?"
James snorted coldly and said, "Only this way can I find out who their henchmen in The Kelly Corporation are. This time, I'm planning to clean them out all at once!"
Michael gave him a thumbs up and said, "That's impressive! Are you sure you don't need my help with the lawsuit against your father?"
James smiled and said, "If I really needed help, would I be polite about it?"
After speaking, he glanced at the time again.
Jessica still hadn't returned.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was Sean.
Recently, Sean had been demoted to the grassroots level by Jack at The Kelly Corporation. He was keeping a low profile and wouldn't call unless it was something important.
James immediately answered the call.
Sean's anxious voice came through, "Mr. Kelly, something happened! Mrs. Kelly had an incident at the company! She slit her wrist!"
James's phone slipped from his hand instantly, and the next second, he dashed out.
On the way, Sean told him that Jessica had already been taken by 911 to the Ocean City University Hospital.
James immediately turned his car around and headed to the emergency department of Ocean City University Hospital.
When he arrived, the doctor had just finished bandaging Jessica.
Outside, only Sean was standing guard.
The culprit, Jack, didn't even dare to come to the hospital.
Seeing her disheveled hair and the torn collar of her clothes, but fortunately, she was conscious.
Despite this, James was still very anxious.
He rushed in, squatted in front of her, held her face, and asked, "How are you? Sean said you slit your wrist. Are you crazy?"
He was both angry and anxious, but more than anything, he was heartbroken.
Jessica's tears streamed down her face as she suddenly hugged his neck and buried her face in his shoulder.
James stroked the back of her head and said, "What happened? Tell me."
"It's nothing. Jack is a bastard!"
Jessica cried, unable to speak clearly.
James realized something and gritted his teeth, asking, "Did Jack try to...?"
"He didn't succeed."
Jessica sniffled and said, "I slit my wrist and scared him. Later, people outside heard my cries for help, and everyone came in."
James was very confused and called Sean over, saying, "Tell me exactly what happened!"
Sean, trembling, said, "I heard it from the secretary in the president's office. It seems Mrs. Kelly went to see Jack, and he tried to assault her. Mrs. Kelly had no choice but to do that to protect herself."
James felt his blood boiling, wanting to tear Jack apart right then and there.
He sent Sean out and sternly questioned, "Jessica, why didn't you discuss it with me before going to see Jack?"
