Chapter 43 Driven to Madness
Jessica was swamped with questions and could only say, "I don't really interact with Professor Howard much, so I don't know."
But the usual sharp, familiar voice was missing from the classroom.
She looked around and asked, "Where's Kylie? Didn't she come to class?"
Some classmates, who didn't get along with Kylie, sneered, "Seems she pissed off someone in the lab and got kicked out. She doesn't even have a place to do her experiments. No way she can finish her thesis. She hasn't been to class for days."
Jessica felt a bit puzzled but nodded without asking more.
After all, when she was in trouble before, Kylie couldn't wait to make things worse for her.
So, whether Kylie was dead or alive had nothing to do with her.

James sat in his office, deep in thought.
Since last night, he hadn't gone to the hospital or home; he even slept in the office.
He kept looking at Nathan's post on Instagram over and over again.
As Jessica's husband, he didn't believe her and didn't stand by her side.
In the end, it was another man who cleared Jessica's name.
At that moment, his phone rang again.
A glimmer of hope flashed in James's eyes, but it dimmed when he saw the caller ID.
It was Rose calling again.
He pressed the hang-up button.
He knew all this was done by the Morris family's rude relatives, and Rose wasn't like them.
But he didn't know why.
Seeing Rose's call still made him annoyed.

Rose looked at her phone screen, which had gone dark again, and was furious.
James had never hung up on her, not even once!
But since last night, he had refused to take her calls countless times!
Rose thought bitterly, 'Jessica! It's all because of Jessica! Why did Nathan have to show up and mess up all my plans?'
Just then, her phone rang.
Rose's expression brightened. She thought it was James, but it was her relatives calling.
For the next few hours, relatives kept calling her.
"Rose, now everyone is looking for us. What should we do? We don't even dare to go out!"
"We were just following your instructions. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have known to smear her online."
"We originally just wanted her to pay some money, but you insisted we keep pressing her. Now, what do we do?"
Each call made Rose more anxious.
Suppressing her anger, she warned, "Keep your mouths shut. Don't say things like that. If someone hears it, I'll be in trouble just like you!"
Rose's aunt, even more furious, started yelling, "You were the one who told us to hit that woman. You were the one who told us to expose her online. If you don't want to handle this, we'll tell the truth. At worst, we'll all go down together!"
