Chapter 521 No One Will Stay for Her (3)
The exhaustion and blows of the past two days, along with Louisa's malicious accusations just now, had already overwhelmed Jessica.
Suddenly, her vision went black, and she fainted.
"Jessica!"
James was startled and immediately squatted down to pick her up.
He quickly carried Jessica to the car and turned back to warn Nathan, "Don't follow us anymore!"

James, thinking about Jessica's recent stomach discomfort and now her fainting, decided to have the doctor give her a thorough examination.
By late afternoon, most of the test results were in.
The doctor, holding the lab report, said, "Your wife is ten weeks pregnant. However, her mental stress has been too high recently, and she is somewhat anemic, so the fetus is not very stable."
James looked at the doctor in disbelief, stunned for a long time before finally coming to his senses.
"What did you say?"
James looked at the pale, quietly sleeping Jessica on the bed and confirmed with the doctor again, "Are you sure she's pregnant?"
The doctor assured him, "This is not a mistake. If you're still worried, you can have an ultrasound done after she wakes up."
James suddenly remembered that night when Jessica didn't want him to go find Rose.
She had said then that she was pregnant!
But he thought she was being unreasonable and didn't believe her at all.
James pounded his chest in regret.
How stupid and awful could he be?
He had left her alone in the country, pregnant and still having to handle John's funeral.
In the days he was gone, she had gone through so much despair.
James put away the lab report and said, "I understand. Thank you, doctor. Whatever treatment she needs, please go ahead. Use the best medicine and get the best specialists."
The doctor smiled and said, "Actually, your wife's condition isn't that serious. It's just that she's been under too much stress and pressure recently. The vomiting you mentioned earlier is also a normal pregnancy reaction."
With that, the doctor left the room.
James's mind flashed back to all the unusual behavior Jessica had shown recently.
No wonder she always resisted their closeness;

No wonder she seemed to have gained some weight recently.
It turned out she had been hiding her pregnancy from him all along.

Seeing Jessica sleeping soundly on the bed with no sign of waking up, James took his phone and stepped out.
At the end of the corridor, he called Michael.
Facing his 'interrogation,' Michael coldly said, "I knew you would come to trouble me for your wife! But James, her dad's death wasn't my doing. He couldn't handle the psychological pressure and chose this path himself."
"Can you really say this has nothing to do with you?"
James lowered his voice and gritted his teeth, "You went too far this time! That was a human life! Jessica has already lost her mom, and now her dad is dead, in such a way. How could you be so heartless? At the very least, you should have given me a heads-up before you acted!"
Michael firmly replied, "I'll say it again, I was also surprised by John's death. If I had done it, I wouldn't deny it. But I didn't do it, and that's the truth."
