Chapter 74 I'm Serious About Her
Jessica's voice was icy. "I'm not part of your bet. If you want to gamble, fine, but leave me out of it. I don't even know you guys!"
Leo, looking desperate, said, "But I really like you. Don't be mad. My roommate was just joking. Ever since the award ceremony yesterday, I thought you were amazing. Can you give me a chance to be my girlfriend?"
Jessica was speechless at Leo's confession.
Even though she was furious, Leo didn't seem to mean any harm, and she felt awkward about losing her temper.
Just then, the girls around them started to grumble.
"What's the big deal? It's just saving someone!"
"Exactly! If Leo likes her, it's her luck! So many people want to be Leo's girlfriend!"
"Jessica, just say yes to Leo! If the architecture department loses because of you, we'll hate you forever!"
Not far from the sports field entrance, James saw everything.
No wonder Jessica texted him not to pick her up.
She came to the sports field to hear another guy's confession!
James wondered, 'Why not just reject this immature guy outright and slap him? What's there to hesitate about?'
Looking at the young Leo, James wondered if Jessica might actually like this type of guy.
After all, they were about the same age, with no generation gap.
Unlike himself, who was a full six years older than her.
James's mood darkened. Why were there always these fearless guys eyeing Jessica recently?
He put on his sunglasses and walked toward the center of the commotion.
Jessica and Kylie were in a bind.
Kylie even thought about just grabbing Jessica and running away.
But then they saw a tall, slender figure in a black shirt walking over.
James had an extraordinary presence, and even with sunglasses on, his high nose bridge and sharp features stood out.
Kylie whispered incredulously to Jessica, "Doesn't that look like your boyfriend? Is it him?"
Jessica didn't deny it, but she was very nervous and murmured, "Why is he here?"
Kylie whispered, "Let's hurry and leave now. What if your boyfriend misunderstands?"
Jessica sighed, "It's too late. He must have already seen it."
James walked up to her, suppressing his anger, and asked softly, "Why aren't you going home after school? What are you doing here?"
Jessica felt inexplicably scared and didn't dare to look him in the eye.
The surrounding students were all pointing at them, extremely curious, as if they wanted to bring out small stools to sit and watch.
Leo looked at James awkwardly and asked, "Who are you?"
"Her brother," James answered calmly, showing no sign of lying.
Jessica's face immediately froze.
So, he was just a 'brother.'
He didn't even dare to acknowledge their relationship.
A trace of heartache flashed in her eyes, and she silently lowered her gaze.
Kylie was also stunned. Jessica had clearly admitted that this was her boyfriend, right?
Why did this man say he was Jessica's brother?
Leo really thought James was Jessica's brother and quickly said, "Hello. I really like Jessica. I promise you, I'm serious about her."
