Chapter 294 You Have No Right

After Jessica said her piece, she just brushed him off and strutted right into the villa.

Olivia, worried James might flip out on Jessica, quickly chimed in, "Mr. Kelly, she's probably had a rough day at her internship. That's why she's acting out."

James, all cold and distant, didn't waste a second and followed Jessica into the bedroom.

Trying to keep his cool, James asked, "Did something go down at your internship? We were good before. Why you been poking the bear these past couple of days?"

"Were we really good?" Jessica shot back, her eyes narrowing. "If that's true, then where the hell did Rose come from?"

James was caught off guard, and after a long, awkward pause, he finally said, "What's done is done. Neither of us can change it. I promise you, Rose won't show up in front of you again. Just act like she doesn't exist."

"So you want me to play dumb?" Jessica said, dripping with sarcasm. "To pretend that I believe when you're not around, you're with your side piece and the kid? And am I just supposed to play along like I have no clue?"

James took a deep breath, feeling his patience slipping away.

He asked slowly, "Then what do I gotta do to make this right?"

Jessica shot back, "Make Rose get rid of the kid!"

She knew James would never go for it.

She was pushing him away, trying to make him hate her.

And James would never know how much it tore her up inside to do this.

Seeing James stay silent, she taunted, "Can't bring yourself to do it, huh?"

"No, that's not it," James said, looking at her intensely. "Jessica, I have my reasons. Please believe me, it's not that I can't do it."

Jessica, not backing down, said, "Then prove it! I don't love you anymore. I can't stick around feeling this miserable."

James felt a wave of helplessness and anger.

He stepped forward, grabbed her, and kissed her hard, shutting her up.

He knew he was in the wrong from the start.

He couldn't argue with her, and he had no defense.

But he wasn't gonna let Jessica say she didn't love him anymore that easily.

He couldn't accept it!

Jessica tried to push him away, but he held on tighter, not giving an inch.

Their kiss was a mess of desperation and helplessness.

James only let her go when her lips were so sore they were almost numb.

Panting, James said slowly, "Jessica, you don't get to say you don't love me anymore. If you wanna leave, it's gotta be because I don't love you anymore!"

Jessica, with a bitter smile, said, "My heart's not with you anymore. Do you really feel good keeping an empty shell around?"

James sneered, his cool fingers tracing her face. "Even if you're just a trophy, you're still nice to look at around the house!"

With that, he stormed out of the bedroom and headed to the study.

He lit up cigarette after cigarette.

He racked his brain but couldn't figure out why Jessica's attitude had flipped so hard in just a few days.

James picked up the phone and called Sean, asking him to check if Jessica had run into any trouble during her recent internship at the hospital.
