Chapter 182 Stop Doing Things That Make Me Angry

She thought, "He'd never threaten Rose or force her, but he treats me like this. He can't give me a happy marriage, and he won't even let me go."

The more Jessica thought about it, the more upset she got. She grabbed her plate and started shoving food into her mouth.

Tears welled up and started falling.

Seeing her cry while eating, James, annoyed, said, "You seem to be thinner. I just want you to eat more. Is that too much?"

"Spare me your fake kindness!" Jessica shot back, wiping her tears and continuing to eat.

She just wanted to finish so she could talk to him about the Stewart family.

James put some salmon on her plate. "Don't just eat vegetables."

Jessica mechanically shoved the salmon into her mouth too.

Even though she felt like she was choking, she forced herself to swallow, the lump in her throat almost unbearable.

Finally, James had enough. He took her plate away and said coldly, "Forget it. If you don't want to eat, then don't."

Jessica sniffled, her voice trembling, "You said if I did everything you asked, you'd let the Stewart family go, right?"

Hearing her mention the Stewart family again, treating their relationship like a transaction, James's expression darkened. His voice dropped to a low, dangerous murmur. "I told you, we'll discuss it slowly tonight."

He emphasized 'slowly,' and Jessica got the message.

When Jessica finished her shower, James had just finished his too.

Jessica's eyes were red and wet, like a frightened deer. He knew she must have been crying again.

Looking at the delicate and fragile Jessica, James felt a twinge of desire and suppressed it.

He took a hairdryer from the cabinet. "Come here, I'll dry your hair."

Jessica, looking like she was heading to the gallows, said, "No need. You don't have to pretend to be a considerate husband. Just do whatever you want."

Her words amused James. He walked over and gently dried her hair.

Jessica sat stiffly in the chair, not daring to look in the mirror.

She was afraid that seeing his handsome and gentle face would make her forget the pain he had caused and his unpredictable moods.

After drying her hair, James smiled and whispered. "Did you return the bracelet Jack gave you?"

Jessica replied coldly, "No. I haven't seen him these past two days. If I contact him privately, won't you get angry again?"

James chuckled, "You're quite perceptive, knowing that getting close to him would upset me."

Jessica walked to the bedside table, took the bracelet from the drawer, and said faintly, "If you see him at the office, return it to him for me."

Seeing she had no attachment to the bracelet, James's mood improved, and he didn't bring up the past again.

His warm hand slipped into her collar, and he said suggestively, "Jessica, remember, don't do anything to make me angry again."

Jessica's body trembled slightly, recalling his cruelty at the ball.

She suddenly pushed him away and yelled helplessly, "I'm not your pet that you can pamper when you're happy and torment when you're not! I don't like this. I don't like doing this!"

James's eyes narrowed, revealing a hint of coldness, and he pulled her back.
