Chapter 66 Calling Him a Simp

Sean, driving up front, wished he were deaf, fearing he might lose his job tomorrow.

He'd never seen anyone talk to Mr. Kelly like that before!

Usually, Mrs. Kelly seemed so gentle and weak, but when she scolded Mr. Kelly, she didn't hold back at all!

James quickly covered her mouth and whispered, "Jessica, are you kidding me?"

Jessica yanked his hand away and shouted, "Did you ever treat Rose like this? In front of Rose, you're just a simp! And in front of me, you act all tough? What kind of man are you?"

Did she just call him a simp?

James's face turned as dark as it could get.

"Stop the car!" James suddenly shouted, and Sean slammed on the brakes, scared out of his mind.

Jessica was ruthlessly pushed out of the car and left on the road.

She felt like she was dreaming, sitting on the steps by the roadside with a silly smile, swaying back and forth.

Sean watched Jessica through the rearview mirror and cautiously said, "Mr. Kelly, leaving Mrs. Kelly there isn't very safe. Besides, she's drunk right now."

James shot him a cold glance and sneered, "Or do you want to keep her company?"

Sean immediately shut up, not daring to say another word, and kept driving.

Halfway through, James suddenly spoke, "Stop the car. You can get out and take a cab back."

Sean immediately understood, feeling a sense of relief but not daring to show it.

After all, Mr. Kelly still couldn't bear to leave Mrs. Kelly.

Sean got out, and James drove back the way they came.

Sure enough, Jessica was still sitting there all alone.

Occasionally, passersby would point at her, and she would smile foolishly at them.

He frowned helplessly and got out of the car, walking toward her.

When Jessica saw the shiny black leather shoes in front of her, she hazily lifted her innocent and youthful face.

She sat there, covering her flushed cheeks with her hands, pouting, "James. Why do I keep having nightmares lately? I always dream about you!"

James gritted his teeth and said angrily, "So, I'm your nightmare, huh?"

He really wanted to leave her there.

But in the end, reason prevailed.

He picked her up, gently coaxing her in a soft tone, "Stop it, be good, come home with me."

Jessica, like a sleeping kitten, curled up in his arms and finally quieted down.

James's lips curled into a faint smile as he carried her into the car.

When Jessica woke up again, it was already dark.

She clutched her aching forehead and sat up abruptly, realizing she was already home.

As her thoughts returned, she remembered James's cold and indifferent attitude at the party and his humiliation of her.

All of it made Jessica's heart grow cold.

At that moment, Olivia walked in with dinner.

Olivia said with a cheerful smile, "Mrs. Kelly, are you feeling better? Mr. Kelly brought you back today and even instructed me to make you some hangover soup. He really cares about you."
