Chapter 350 Sharing a Bed with James? (4)

Rose hesitated, "You're not Grandpa, so how do you know he won't be thrilled to hear he has a great-grandson?"

James's voice was firm and icy, "Because I know him too well. You can't show yourself to Grandpa. If he gets upset, we can't handle the fallout."

Rose sighed, giving in reluctantly, "Fine, I won't go."

James, wrapping up quickly, said, "You seem okay now, so I'm heading out. Remember what I said, take care of yourself, and don't go see him."

"You're not staying for dinner?" Rose clung to him, not wanting to let go. "You'll be busy with Grandpa tomorrow and won't have time for me. Can't we at least have dinner together now?"

James's eyes flashed with impatience. He gently pushed her hand away, "I'm not hungry, but you should have a good dinner."

With that, he hurried out of Rose's house.

Furious, Rose smashed the glass in front of her, startling the caregiver.

She yelled, "Get out of here!"

The caregiver, terrified, thought Rose was a great actress. She was always sweet and gentle in front of James, but behind his back, she turned into someone else entirely.

The caregiver hid in the kitchen, watching the situation outside, scared she might get hurt.

Rose's face twisted with rage, trembling all over. She thought, 'I sacrificed my legs to get James to divorce. But now, Jessica's back in his life, and they'll be together again soon. What will I do then? Won't all my efforts be wasted?'

Her face contorted with hatred, wishing she could get rid of Jessica.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, James had already returned. Jessica was surprised to see him back so soon.

Seeing it was getting late, Gerald suggested, "You two should go home and rest. The housekeeper can take care of me here. If anything happens, they'll notify you."

Jessica, worried, said, "Grandpa, let me stay here and take care of you."

"I'm staying too," James added. "Grandpa, Jessica and I will take care of you together."

They had both been busy and only visited Gerald once a month. Now, with Gerald's time running out, they cherished these last days. Neither wanted to leave.

Gerald, feeling helpless, agreed.

But there was only one caregiver bed in the living room outside. Even though Gerald was in a VIP room, the hospital only set up a single bed for the caregiver.

Jessica and James exchanged awkward glances.

After a long pause, Jessica spoke first, "I'll sleep in the on-call room; there are several beds there."

She turned to leave, planning to spend the night in the on-call room. But as she passed by James, he grabbed her hand. His warm hand enveloped hers, sending a jolt through her heart, making her inexplicably flustered.
