Chapter 419 Acquisition of The Evans Corporation (1)
Jessica was stunned, feeling like she was on pins and needles under his pressure.
Just like that, under James' coercion and enticement, she was like a little rabbit being lured by a big bad wolf, miserably bullied.
It was like boiling a frog in warm water.
The night was still long.
The next day, Jessica was awakened by his kiss.
She really didn't understand why James had so much energy and stamina.
James' hand reached under her skirt, but Jessica immediately stopped him.
"I have to go to school today."
She pleaded softly, her face blushing so much it seemed like it would drip blood. She whispered, "Yesterday, I did everything you asked. Can you let me go today?"
Thinking about last night, when Jessica had actively teased him, James felt his hormones stirring again.
He held her hand, kissed it, and said, "Who was it that said they wouldn't go to work anymore and would stay home to take good care of me?"
Jessica was stunned, not expecting him to remember her words from last night.
She lowered her eyes and said sadly, "I was just speaking out of anger last night. My mom's dying wish was for me to become a good doctor. I can't give that up."
When she mentioned Thalia, Jessica's eyes turned red.
James softened a bit, lowered his head, and kissed her lips, saying, "You did well last night. I'll let you go today."
After saying that, he got up and went to the bathroom to wash up.
Only then did Jessica slowly get out of bed.
She always felt that James now treated her like a kept lover.
They had loved each other before; they had been through marriage, so why had it come to this?
Was it because of Rose?
She hesitated for a long time, then slowly walked to the bathroom door and said softly, "There's something I want to explain to you. About Rose's pregnancy, it wasn't me who told Grandpa. I don't know how Grandpa found out. I never expected Grandpa to deal with Rose that way."
James threw down the towel in his hand, his sharp gaze falling on her, and questioned, "Then tell me, how did Grandpa know about our affairs? Why did he go after Rose? Back then, you insisted on making Rose abort the child. When you didn't succeed, did you use Grandpa?"
Jessica blinked hard, trying to hold back her tears.
She choked up and said, "So, in your heart, you think of me like that? I'm such a vicious and insidious bad woman?"
James neither confirmed nor denied it.
But his silence said it all.
Jessica hated herself for seeking trouble.
She knew he had misunderstood her, she knew he didn't trust her, but she still had to hear it and see it for herself!
A look of hurt flashed in her eyes. She nodded and said, "Fine, if that's what you think, then I have nothing more to say. I'm sorry for making you lose your first child."
Jessica knew that James had deeply misunderstood her. He believed she had caused Rose to lose her child, so how could he possibly accept her child?
Thinking about the little life inside her, she felt deeply sorry for the baby.
Maybe his father would never know of his existence.
While Jessica was lost in thought, James had already walked past her out of the bathroom and went to the closet on his own.
