Chapter 477 Explain Clearly (3)

Lily couldn't tell, but Jessica could clearly see his perfunctory attitude.

"Jessica, are you out of your mind? Why didn't you say hello to Jacob?"

Lily reminded her.

Jessica snapped back to reality, forced a smile, and said, "Jacob, long time no see."

Jacob looked at her and, just like before, said gently, "It's been years, Jessica, you've grown up."

Suddenly, Lily looked at Jessica's lower abdomen and said, "Jessica, have you gained weight recently?"

Jessica's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively glanced at her lower abdomen.

Sure enough, her belly was starting to show a slight bulge.

Even Lily could see it at a glance, so James would find out sooner or later.

Jessica felt a bit panicked and sat across from them, using drinking water to cover her embarrassment.

Jacob pinched Lily's cheek and said, "You little girl, it's very impolite to call a girl fat. You always speak without thinking!"

Lily playfully stuck out her tongue and said, "Jessica and I are close; she won't mind! Don't you think she's really gained some weight recently?"

Jessica was afraid that more people would find out about her pregnancy, so she quickly changed the subject and said, "Alright, stop talking about me. Today, you and Jacob are the main focus."

Lily winked at her and happily said, "Jacob said that this time, he's staying in Ocean City and won't leave."

Jessica looked thoughtfully at Jacob and said, "So, Jacob, are you ready to marry our Lily?"

Jacob's expression changed noticeably but quickly returned to normal. He said, "Of course, if Lily wants to marry me, I'll marry her anytime."

Lily smiled happily, her adoring gaze never leaving Jacob's face.

Jessica gave a faint smile.

Only Lily would foolishly believe him.

Jessica had little interest in the meal. If it weren't for Lily's obvious affection for Jacob and her fear of hurting her, she would have exposed him right then and there!

But in the end, she remembered James's words and held back.

Jacob gently said, "Jessica, eat more. Don't listen to Lily's nonsense. It's fine for girls to be a bit chubby."

Lily was enjoying the food and suddenly said, "I'm going to the restroom."

With Lily gone, only Jessica and Jacob were left at the table.

"Jacob, will you really marry Lily?"

Jessica's tone was cold as she said to Jacob, "Yesterday, at the women's clothing store on the second floor of Golden Plaza, I saw you. You don't need to pretend with me."

Jacob's face immediately darkened.

After a moment of shock, he smiled knowingly, without any guilt or shame.

He calmly said, "I only see Lily as a sister, just like you. I don't have romantic feelings for either of you."

Jessica became furious and lowered her voice, saying, "Jacob, is this reasonable? If you don't have romantic feelings for Lily, why did you promise to marry her when you returned? What are your intentions? Being with Lily while being involved with other women. Don't think I won't tell Lily!"

Jacob remained unflustered and said calmly, "Then why haven't you told her? You could have told Lily right after you saw me yesterday, couldn't you?"

Jessica gritted her teeth and said, "That's because I know how much Lily loves you. I don't want to hurt her."
