Chapter 69 Even if I Possess You, it is Reasonable and Legal
But he didn't want to tell her that he and Rose had only hooked up that one time.
After all, Jessica had cheated and even bought birth control pills to cover it up!
She cheated first, so what right did she have to demand explanations from him?
James warned, "Stay away from Jack. You know I can't stand him. I don't want to hurt you, so don't push me."
Jessica was a bit scared of James's sinister demeanor.
She wanted to tell James that maybe Jack wasn't as bad as he thought, and why couldn't he give him a chance?
It could ease the tension.
But facing James's murderous gaze, she didn't dare say anything.
Jessica got out of bed, preparing to return to the old house.
James was so unpredictable now, constantly wanting to touch and kiss her. She really didn't dare to stay in the same room with him.
"Where are you going?" James grabbed her and asked in a deep voice.
Jessica mustered up the courage and replied, "I'm going back to the Kelly family estate. Mr. Kelly said that unless you cut ties with that woman, I won't come back. Otherwise, we should get a divorce."
James tightened his grip on her wrist and said through gritted teeth, "Stop using Grandpa to pressure me! What if I don't agree?"
Jessica frowned and struggled, "Then you can go talk to Mr. Kelly yourself. Let go of me!"
James walked over and locked the door, saying, "Starting tomorrow, I'll personally take you to and from school. If Grandpa asks, I'll handle it! Now, either take a shower and sleep, or we can do something else. Your choice!"
Jessica blushed immediately, understanding his implication.
She knew James's temper, but she really didn't understand why he was so stubborn this time.
She thought, 'His time is so precious, shouldn't he be spending it with Rose? Why does he want to take me to and from school personally?'
With that, she slowly went into the bathroom to take a shower.
James also finished showering in another bathroom and returned to the bedroom.
"Why don't you go back to your room to sleep?" Jessica looked at him warily.
James, wearing a navy blue silk pajama, half-leaned on the bed and glanced at her, "Don't push your luck. Not to mention sleeping in the same bed, even if I possess your body, it's still reasonable and legal!"
Jessica was left speechless by his retort but didn't want to forgive him so easily.
Suddenly, she remembered what Kylie had asked her today.
So her attitude softened a bit, and she climbed onto the bed to sit next to him, asking, "Was it you who got Kylie kicked out of the lab?"
James was stunned for a moment, taking a while to remember that woman.
If Jessica hadn't mentioned it, he would have almost forgotten.
James responded indifferently, "It was me, so what? A woman like her, with such a malicious mind, do you expect her to become a good doctor and save lives? I'm clearing obstacles for the society!"
Jessica thought about how Kylie had harmed her before and was also very angry.
But she ultimately sighed, "Let her go. Don't make things difficult for her in the lab."
A trace of surprise flashed across James's face, and he said coldly, "Being kind to the enemy is a crime against yourself. Don't forget how she treated you before."
Jessica said seriously, "I remember! But her family had a hard time putting her through school. Not everyone is like you, born into privilege. Many people scrimp and save just to put one child through college. I don't want to be ruthless, and I can't bear it!"
James's brow furrowed tightly.
He had dealt with Kylie for her sake.
He ruminated, 'So now, is she blaming me for being too cruel?'
With this thought, James said coldly, "Do whatever you want!"
