Chapter 47 Want to Make Love to Her
He rubbed her back with his other hand, the heat seeping through the black silk into her skin. But Jessica felt no warmth, only a chilling sensation.
It was like James wanted to suck all the air out of her chest.
She never thought James would kiss her, and it felt like torture.
James could feel her body shaking with sobs in his arms.
He finally softened and stopped kissing her.
Letting go of Jessica, he wiped the tears from her face.
In a hoarse voice, James asked, "You really don't want this?"
"I don't," Jessica mumbled, hurt. "No one likes being forced. Even if you're my husband, you can't treat me like this. I'm not that kind of woman, and I'm definitely not your plaything."
James's face stayed grim as he asked, "When did you meet Nathan? How far have you two gone?"
Jessica stared at him blankly, "What does this have to do with Professor Howard?"
James pinched her chin and sneered, "Professor Howard? How convenient! Are you so pure because of Nathan? Is he the guy you're cheating with?"
Jessica felt even more insulted.
She broke free, stood a short distance away, and defended herself loudly, "Professor Howard is a respected teacher of mine. I only met him for the first time today! Don't insult him, and don't insult me!"
James looked at her in silence, seemingly contemplating whether her words were true.
If it wasn't Nathan, then who could it be?
The more Jessica thought about it, the more hurt she felt, and the tears she had held back started to flow again in anger.
Her eyes, like those of a wounded kitten, filled with tears as she choked out, "James, you're my husband, yet when I needed you the most, you were with another woman. Now, someone has finally cleared my name, proving I didn't kill Rose's grandmother. But you still come to accuse me and the person who cleared my name! What did I do to deserve this from you?"
Jessica thought painfully, 'Am I supposed to endure his insults and bullying just because I was the one who fell in love first?'
With her words, James's sharp gaze gradually softened, and he felt a stabbing pain in his heart.
It wasn't excruciating, but it was uncomfortable.
Jessica wiped the tears from her eyes with her fingertips, giving a bitter smile, "No wonder people say that the one who falls in love first is the one who loses."
She wanted to leave his room but heard James say, "Jessica, aren't you planning to get your friend out?"
Despite his words, his tone was no longer as overbearing as before; instead, it carried a hint of coaxing.
Jessica stopped in her tracks, clenched her fists, and asked, "What do you want now?"
James got up, walked to her, and touched her hair, saying, "Go take a shower. Clean yourself up and wait for me in bed."
Jessica was very nervous and instinctively asked, "What do you want to do?"
"Fulfill my duties as a husband."
He smiled with a hint of wickedness and went to the bathroom in another room.
Jessica had already made up her mind that to get him to spare Lily, she had no right to refuse any of his demands tonight.
Even so, she took much longer than usual to shower.
But what must come could not be avoided.
