Chapter 179 He Never Makes a Losing Deal

This was the fourth time Lily had run into Michael.

The first time, she asked him to help Jessica with a lawsuit against Rose's relatives, and he suggested she become his lover. She flat-out refused.

The second time was at Jessica's house, where her towel slipped off in front of him, and he ogled her.

The third time was at a ball, where they ended up paired together. His hand lingered on her waist, making his intentions clear.

Lily felt like Michael could see right through her with just one look.

"Miss Stewart, I haven't even said anything, why are you so shy?" Michael grinned slyly, drawing near to her with his long strides.

He didn't have the usual tobacco smell; instead, a crisp mint scent wafted from him. Leaning in close, his lips nearly brushed her ear as he whispered, "Are you sure we can have a proper talk tonight?" His tone was flirtatious.

Startled, Lily stepped back, eyeing him warily. "How do you want to talk? Mr. Watson, just name your fee, we will ensure you are well-compensated."

Michael chuckled, a sound both amused and unsettling. "Are you really that naive, or just pretending? Do you think I need the money from this case?"

Lily swallowed hard, her tone softening. "I know you don't need the money. Could you please be kind and help Jessica out?"

Michael's face turned cold. "I'm a lawyer and a businessman. I never do unprofitable deals. You should know what I want."

"Why? Why does it have to be me?" Lily finally voiced her frustration. "Lawyer Watson, you're good-looking, wealthy, and your career is thriving. I'm sure there are plenty of girls who would be willing to be with you. Why do you insist on me?"

Michael smirked as he walked to the window, fiddling with a potted plant. "Things that are too easy to get are boring. Besides, you can never have too many women like toys."

Lily was shocked, anger surging within her. "Michael! I thought you were well-educated and highly qualified. I didn't expect you to treat women as toys!"

Michael listened, his eyes cold and calculating. He sneered, scanning her like a predator. "Miss Stewart, how can you ask for help if you can't keep your cool?"

Lily's anger flared. "If you want me to sell my body or be your secret lover, you're wrong! No one can force me to do what I don't want to do!"

Michael's smile deepened, eyes twinkling with amusement. "I've been socializing a lot lately and need a companion. If you can be available whenever I need, I might consider taking your friend's case."

"Just a companion?" Lily asked suspiciously, crossing her arms. "Nothing else?"

Michael's smile turned more suggestive. "If you want more, I can give it to you."

Lily blushed, shaking her head firmly. "No need. I hope to maintain a pure relationship with you. That way, my fiancé won't overthink."

Michael was taken aback, his brows furrowing slightly. "You have a fiancé?"
