Chapter 39 I Am Not Prey
James buried his head in her neck, not allowing her to move an inch, greedily breathing in her scent.
However, Jessica was not content to lie quietly in his arms, refusing to let James hold her no matter what.
"Let go of me!" Jessica struggled to move out of his embrace, her tone tinged with a hint of panic and resistance.
The first time, James was unprepared, and Jessica easily escaped from his arms.
She frantically retreated to the other side of the bed, pulling the blanket tightly around herself, leaving only a pair of frightened eyes exposed, like a startled fawn.
This did not anger James; he merely chuckled softly, turned over, and pulled Jessica back into his embrace.
Feeling Jessica still restless in his arms, James's palm lightly patted her firm buttocks, carrying a hint of warning.
Jessica was quiet for a moment, then began to struggle even more fiercely, like an angry kitten.
"Go sleep somewhere else." Jessica's muffled voice carried a trace of barely noticeable grievance.
At this moment, Jessica was somewhat unhappy.
Rose's mother's situation caused her to have a lot of grievances.
As her husband, James had chosen to believe another woman, which made her feel very uncomfortable.
Although Jessica hadn't said anything, she still harbored some resentment in her heart.
Now, she was throwing a tantrum.
Every time James held her in his arms, she would struggle to leave.
After several attempts, even the usually good-natured James began to feel a bit irritated.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, a dangerous glint flashing in his deep eyes.
Feeling Jessica still wriggling and struggling in his arms, James's face darkened.
He extended his long arm, pulling Jessica over and pressing her beneath him with an undeniable dominance.
Seeing Jessica's breath hitch and her terrified gaze, a strange sense of satisfaction rose in James's heart.
Seeing Jessica in this state, his desire was also aroused, his eyes growing even darker.
Jessica's hands were restrained above her head by James, who looked down at her like an elegant yet dangerous leopard locking onto his prey.
Perhaps because of his passion, James completely forgot that Jessica's arm was still injured.
Such a large movement caught Jessica off guard, causing her to cry out in pain, instinctively trying to pull her hand back.
However, her strength was insignificant to James, and she couldn't break free from his grip.
Hearing Jessica's cry, James realized he had touched her wound, pausing and loosening his grip slightly to ensure he wouldn't touch it again.
"If you don't want to sleep, then let's do something else." James's voice was low and husky, tinged with a hint of arousal.
The desire in his eyes was undisguised, staring straight at Jessica as if he wanted to devour her.
Seeing the lust in his eyes, Jessica regretted provoking him so willfully.
But now, it was too late for regret; she could only face it reluctantly.
"James, my leg is still injured, you can't..." Jessica tried to struggle, hoping he would abandon the idea, but before she could finish her sentence, she was silenced.
James leaned in and kissed her with a hint of punishment, blocking all the words she hadn't said.
Jessica struggled in dissatisfaction, but in the end, she could only let out whimpering sounds, like an angry little beast, yet with a hint of barely noticeable charm.
It wasn't until Jessica couldn't breathe that James reluctantly got up, ending the punishing kiss.
His tongue brushed across the corner of Jessica's lips, sweeping away the moisture, his actions gentle yet ambiguous, as if savoring a sweet fruit.
