Chapter 323 She Is Still His Darling (3)
James heard her and his brows knitted together.
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he said, "I already knew it . You've been pushing my buttons, trying to get me to divorce you. Was it Rose who put you up to this?"
Jessica stared at him, stunned and speechless.
'How does he know?' she thought.
She slumped against the wall, her body trembling.
Lowering her head, avoiding his gaze, she whispered, "My dad injured her legs. It's our fault; she didn't do anything wrong this time. I should give her the Mrs. Kelly title as the compensation."
James felt a mix of relief and sadness.
He was relieved to know Jessica was still kind-hearted and that her previous behavior was just an act. But it hurt that she was so ready to give up on their marriage.
He walked up to her, lifted her chin, and said, "Look at me. Do you still love me?"
Jessica's eyes darted away, and she lied, "No, I don't."
"You're lying!" James suddenly cupped her cheeks and kissed her hard.
He held her tight, like he wanted to merge with her.
Jessica could barely breathe.
She struggled a bit but couldn't move him.
Gradually, his kiss softened, like he was savoring a piece of jelly, afraid to use too much force.
Jessica almost got lost in his tenderness, unable to pull away.
She started to respond, forgetting everything else.
It wasn't until James carried her to the bed that she snapped out of it.
"No!" Jessica shouted, her eyes misty as she pushed him away.
James easily caught her wrists, pinning her down.
"Jessica, look at yourself. How can you say you don't love me?" His cool fingers slipped under her skirt, making her shiver.
Jessica felt ashamed and helpless, biting her lip. "Don't do this. Please, we can't."
James didn't stop, biting her earlobe and whispering, "You're my wife. Why can't we? Be good, Jessica. Don't fight me. I know you haven't changed. You're still my darling!"
His words made her body tremble, and she finally gave in.
With tears in her eyes, she choked out, "Yes, I love you. I've always loved you! But I can't let my dad go to jail. I have to save him!"
"Trust me, I'll save him. Divorce isn't the answer, okay?" James kissed the corner of her eye, wiping away her tears, trying to comfort her.
Jessica's body responded, wanting to be closer to him, to feel his warmth.
But her heart was heavy with guilt.
John was still in prison. How could she mess with James here?
But James didn't give her a chance to refuse.
They became one, and Jessica felt like a leaf caught in the waves of the ocean.
And James was the wave that carried her.
