Chapter 560 Exposing Rose (2)

Ambrose chuckled, "That mother and daughter? I already tossed them into the ocean for the fish."

Jessica's eyes widened in terror, staring at him in disbelief.

Ambrose softened his tone, "Look, I know you think I'm a bad guy. But if I really wanted to hurt you, I wouldn't have let you go that night at the Skyline Club. Right? You were right there, on my turf. You had no chance to resist. Why would I wait until now?"

Jessica had to admit he had a point, but she still couldn't trust this man who ran everything at the Skyline Club.

She eyed him warily, "Since you let me go, don't come back to mess with my life. I have nothing to say to you."

Seeing Jessica's disdain and suspicion, Ambrose felt a pang of hurt.

Usually so confident in the underworld, Ambrose found himself at a loss for words.

He sighed, "Look, I just have a few questions. If you're not comfortable, we can talk right here on the street. How about that?"

Jessica didn't want to completely piss him off and risk making him angry.

With so many people around, she wasn't afraid he'd try anything.

So, she reluctantly agreed.

Jessica nodded, "Alright, what do you want to say?"

Ambrose's eyes were fixed on the birthmark on the back of her neck. "Ms. Evans, did you ever get treatment for that birthmark?"

He remembered his sister's birthmark was a deep, well-defined red heart shape when she was little.

But now, it had faded significantly, almost invisible unless you looked closely.

Jessica looked at him blankly, "When I was little, I hated the birthmark. I felt different from other kids, so my parents took me to a dermatologist. After a few laser treatments, the doctor said this was the best they could do. Why? Is there a problem?"

She couldn't understand why a guy who seemed like a mob boss would care about such trivial details.

Ambrose seemed to be pondering something, "How much do you remember about your childhood?"

Jessica grew more puzzled, "What do you mean?"

Ambrose said, "I mean, from the time you can remember, have you only known the Evans family? Because I heard you're not their biological daughter."

Bringing this up seemed to touch a nerve for her.

Jessica's expression changed, "That's none of your business!"

Ambrose decided to be straightforward, "Here's the thing, I have a long-lost sister who also has a birthmark just like yours on the back of her neck. And since you're not the Evans' biological daughter, I need to verify your background."

Jessica stared at him, stunned.

What was he saying?

A long-lost sister?

A mob boss suddenly claiming she might be his long-lost sister—did he think this was a movie?

Jessica's face turned cold, "I don't know what your game is, but I don't think we have any family connection. Please don't bother me again. Goodbye!"

With that, she turned to leave.

But as soon as she took a step, Ambrose grabbed her wrist.

Jessica was terrified, glaring at him nervously, "Let go, or I'll scream for help."
