Chapter 494 You Insisted on Me Bringing You to Bed (4)

Michael didn't start the car immediately; he just quietly watched her lonely, slender back, his gaze obscure and unreadable.

It wasn't until she was almost out of his sight that he drove up to her.

Lily didn't expect him to appear in front of her.

She thought he had already left.

"You..."

Lily's eyes welled up with warmth.

The man in front of her, Michael, who had made love to her and humiliated her, often seemed like a beam of light shining into her dark, hopeless world.

At least, he was much better than Jacob.

Jacob was the one who pushed her into hell, while Michael extended a hand to her.

Lily got back into his car and gratefully said, "Thank you, Lawyer Watson."

Michael focused on the road ahead and said, "Don't thank me just yet. I originally wanted you to rest for a few days, but you insisted on coming to my bed, so don't blame me for not being gentle."

Lily's heart tightened, and she instinctively clutched her bag.

Thinking about the pain from last night, Lily's scalp tingled.

How could she forget?

Michael was not a good person; everything he did came with a price.

And she had no money, was utterly destitute.

Only her body had some value left.

After spending a whole week in Honeywind, James finally brought Jessica back to the country.

James didn't want to return so early, but Jessica insisted on coming back for her internship, so James had to agree.

On the plane, James said somewhat disappointedly, "We've already taken our wedding photos, and you still won't let me touch you? I really don't get you."

Thinking of the baby in her belly, Jessica quickly said, "Since you've waited this long, a few more days until the wedding won't make a difference. I don't want to have that kind of relationship with you in a vague situation."

James held her hand and emphasized, "What do you mean by 'vague situation'? You are my ex-wife and my fiancée; we're getting married soon. Does it matter if it's a day earlier or later?"

Jessica was afraid he would force her and harm the baby in her belly.

So, she looked at him seriously and said, "You said before that you would respect me."

James didn't want to become someone who went back on his word in her eyes.

So, he didn't bring up the matter again.

After all, there was plenty of time ahead; Jessica would be his sooner or later.

Taking out the gift she brought for Lily from the suitcase, Jessica asked, "Do you think Lily will like this cup I picked for her?"

The cup was a limited edition. Lily had been talking about it, but it wasn't available in the country, and she was too busy to travel abroad at that time.

When Jessica found it in a store while in Honeywind, she bought it for Lily.

James looked out the window, wondering how the Stewart family was doing now.

How far had Michael gotten?

Jessica, beside him, was still happily looking at the things she bought, including a bag for Kylie, thinking she had good taste.

James couldn't help but worry and said, "When are you planning to give the gift to Lily?"

Jessica thought for a moment and said, "I haven't decided yet. Maybe I'll go to the Stewart family tomorrow to give it to her?"

James paused slightly. If Jessica went to the Stewart family, wouldn't she find out that the Stewart family had gone bankrupt?
