Chapter 211 It Would Be as Good as a Death Sentence for Him

The woman Jack had deeply cared for was now held in James's embrace, not sparing him a glance.

Aware of the potential dire outcomes if he should shoulder all the blame. Amidst Linda's persistent prodding, she urged him to entangle Jessica in this chaos!

"Grandpa, it's all my fault. I had a crush on Jessica, and she had no idea. I lied about the bracelet, saying it was fake and cheap, so she accepted it."

Linda's face twisted in shock and desperation. "Jack, what are you talking about? It was clearly Jessica..."

"Mom, it's all on me!" Jack cut in firmly. "I liked her, so I wanted to be nice to her. If she did anything wrong, it's because I liked her, right?"

Gerald's face turned red with anger, his beard trembling as he pointed at Jack. "You shameless fool, how dare you have feelings for Jessica? Butler, keep hitting him. I must beat this disgrace to death today!"

The butler, seeing Gerald's fury, had no choice but to keep whipping Jack. Linda, desperate, crawled to Gerald's feet, tears streaming down her face, begging for mercy.

Jessica watched in fear as blood blossomed on Jack's back. Hearing the whip slice through the air, she couldn't stand by any longer.

She pushed James away and rushed to stop the butler. "Stop hitting him! Mr. Gerald Kelly, please stop. If you keep hitting him, something terrible will happen," Jessica cried out. Her conscience wouldn't let her stay silent.

Seeing Jessica's plea, Gerald signaled the butler to stop. Jack lay on the ground, barely breathing, but managed a broken smile. "Thank you, Jessica," he whispered.

James's face darkened. Watching Jessica protect Jack felt like a dagger to his heart, and his anger boiled over.

Just as Linda was about to call an ambulance, James spoke up. "Grandpa, I have something to say."

Gerald fixed his gaze on James. "Go ahead," he said.

"The bracelet Jack bought cost over three million dollars, and he embezzled company funds for it," James declared. "This is serious, and I need you to decide what to do."

Linda's heart sank. She hadn't expected Jack to steal so much money just for that bracelet.

Panicking, she quickly interjected, "Mr. Gerald Kelly, George and I can cover the money. Jack acted foolishly for a moment; he knows he was wrong. Please forgive him this time!"

Gerald knew James spoke up now because he was provoked by Jessica's actions. Jack became the scapegoat.

But Jack deserved it.

"James," Gerald said coldly, "I've given you full authority over the company's affairs. Handle this as you see fit."

Linda looked at James in horror. If Jack was handed over to James, it would be as good as a death sentence.
