Chapter 16 I Don't Regret

Although she had always carefully hidden her love secretly, even James didn't know, or perhaps he had long forgotten that they had met when they were children. From the very beginning, all she wanted was him.

He probably wouldn't believe it even if she told him.

Jessica felt a bit bitter inside.

The two of them locked eyes. James glanced at her sickly pale face and her bright eyes, which surprisingly moved him. James said calmly, "A marriage without love, is that what you want? You will regret it, Jessica."

"I won't!" Jessica let out a sigh of relief and gave him a brilliant smile, a dazzling smile that was somewhat blinding.

James's cold eyes softened a bit. He stood up and unexpectedly said, "Since you insist, I won't force you."

Jessica was stunned for a moment, her heart uncontrollably speeding up. She softly replied, and she was reluctant to watch James leave.

At least she had temporarily avoided the crisis of divorce, and he didn't seem as cold as before.

The next morning, Rose started causing trouble again.

"James, last night I wore Jessica's clothes, and she wasn't happy about it. But her clothes are so beautiful. I've never had such beautiful clothes in my life."

After hearing this, James directly took out a VIP card and said to Rose, "The password of this card is your birthday. From now on, you can buy whatever you want!"

Rose's eyes lit up when she saw the gold-embossed VIP card, which had at least a $1.5 million limit.

She smugly glanced at Jessica, who was eating breakfast, and said, "But shopping alone is so boring. James, can you come with me, or let Jessica come with me to buy some clothes?"

Rose naturally knew that James had an important meeting today and couldn't get away.

James asked Jessica to accompany Rose, and Jessica couldn't refuse. After all, as Mrs. Kelly, it was only natural to share James's burdens, even if it meant taking care of James's female "friends."

At the mall.

Rose, dressed in the latest Elegance Couture outfit and wearing high heels, acted imperiously in the luxury store.

Jessica kept her head down, following closely behind her, carrying bags like a humble servant.

"Oh, this bag is so beautiful, Miss Evans, don't you think?" Rose picked up a bag and deliberately waved it in front of Jessica.

Jessica's wrist ached faintly, a result of being squeezed by James yesterday. It still hurt. She glanced at it lightly and said calmly, "As long as you like it."

"But this color doesn't seem to suit me," Rose said, pretending to be troubled, with a hint of barely noticeable smugness in her eyes.

"This lady has an outstanding temperament. This bag's color highlights your elegance and nobility," the store clerk immediately chimed in, not forgetting to cast a disdainful glance at Jessica. "Unlike some people, who, no matter how expensive the bag is, can't hide their shabby appearance."

Jessica's fingers instinctively clenched, her nails digging deeply into her flesh, causing a sharp pain. She knew the clerk was targeting her.

Rose's lips curled into a sinister smile as she seemingly unintentionally handed the bag to Jessica. "Jessica, hold this for me. I'm going to try on that dress."

Jessica instinctively reached out to take it, but Rose deliberately let go, causing the bag to fall heavily on her foot and making her gasp in pain.
