Chapter 398 Private Alliance (4)
James quickly arrived at the hospital.
He rushed into the ward and saw Gerald's face was ashen. He anxiously said, "Grandpa, are you okay? I'll go get the doctor."
"Stop right there!"
Gerald called out to him angrily, "Don't change the subject! Tell me clearly, what is going on? Did you and Jessica get a divorce?"
James had been thinking about how to explain to Gerald.
Even now, he couldn't come up with a reasonable answer that would make Gerald less angry.
So, he had to admit, "Yes, we got divorced."
"You bastard!"
Gerald, in a fit of rage, grabbed a glass from beside him and threw it.
It hit James right on the forehead.
He didn't dodge, only grunted in pain.
Soon, blood started to flow down his forehead.
Gerald pointed at him, trembling, and said, "Why? Tell me, Jessica is such a good girl, why did you divorce her? Is it because you got that Morris woman pregnant and can't handle it? Do you want to marry that Morris woman?"
Facing Gerald's barrage of questions, James calmly said, "My divorce from her isn't entirely because of Rose. Grandpa, you always tried to push me and Jessica together. But from the beginning to the end, you never asked about our feelings, did you? Maybe Jessica never even liked me. To be honest, I wasn't the one who first brought up the divorce."
Gerald looked at him in disbelief.
Could it be that Jessica fell for someone else and wanted the divorce?
But he quickly dismissed that thought.
Gerald, furious, cursed, "When something goes wrong, you still want to blame Jessica? Did she make Rose pregnant? Was she unfaithful to the marriage? I have truly failed in this life, how did I raise such a bastard like you?"
James remained silent, letting Gerald scold him.
But the more he did so, the angrier Gerald became.
He asked in a deep voice, "What do you plan to do about that woman? I heard the child is already three months along. Don't tell me you want her to keep it!"
James said in a low voice, "I also thought about having her get an abortion, but her situation is too complicated. I can't be that selfish. After all, this is my child too. I can't be that irresponsible!"
Gerald flew into a rage and said, "Listen to me, I will not allow that woman to have anything to do with the Kelly family. Unless you want me to die with regrets!"
James suddenly looked up, shocked at Gerald.
He knew Gerald had a deep prejudice against Rose, but he didn't expect Gerald to be so resistant to accepting Rose and the unborn child.
Gerald, too agitated, suddenly passed out.
James immediately called for a doctor.
His gaze darkened.
It must have been Jessica. She must have told Gerald about this without consulting him.
Fortunately, this time, Gerald's fainting was just due to emotional agitation, and he woke up not long after.
The first thing he did upon waking was to tell James to get out and bring Jessica back.
