Now, Michael couldn't find a way to break into The Evans Corporation, and he probably still blames him for it.
How could James have the nerve to ask Michael for help?
So, he pretended to be relaxed and said, "There are so many lawyers in Ocean City, not just Michael. Finding someone else is the same!"
Jessica seemed to notice something was wrong and suspiciously asked, "Did you have a fight with Lawyer Watson? You used to go to him whenever you had legal issues. Why are you looking for someone else now instead of your friend?"
James concealed the unusual look in his eyes, forced a relaxed smile, and said, "You silly girl, always worrying about nothing. You don't understand men's business. Don't worry, Linda and George can't do anything to me!"
Although he said this, Jessica knew that George and Jack had already taken control of The Kelly Corporation.
Now they were taking James to court, clearly trying to push him to the brink.
Jessica had a lot on her mind and thought for a long time before finding an excuse, "I've already taken a few days off from the hospital. I want to go back this afternoon; it's not good to take too long off."

James looked at her with pity and reminded her, "Don't overwork yourself."
That afternoon, Jessica went out.
But she didn't go to the hospital; she went to Michael's law firm.
At that time, Michael was talking with a client when the assistant knocked on the door and said, "Lawyer Watson, there's a Miss Jessica at the front desk looking for you, but she doesn't have an appointment. She says it's important."
Whenever Michael heard the name Jessica now, he would think of what John did back then.
Moreover, he felt there was nothing to say to Jessica.
So, Michael said coldly, "Send her away!"
The receptionist had no choice but to return and apologetically tell Jessica, "I'm sorry, Lawyer Watson is a bit busy today. Please come back another day."
Jessica anxiously said, "But I really have something important to discuss with him. Please, take me to see him, okay?"
Seeing her like this, the receptionist had to be honest, "Sorry, but Lawyer Watson might not want to see you."
Jessica's heart sank immediately.
She knew there must be something wrong between Michael and James.
Michael had always been polite to her before and even helped John with a lawsuit.
But why now, he didn't even want to see her?
If he knew that James was being targeted by Linda and George, would he help James?
Jessica couldn't waste any more time here; she had to think of another way.
So, she told the receptionist, "Then I'll leave. Please tell Michael that James is in trouble, and Linda and George are trying to harm him. Thank you."
After saying that, Jessica left Michael's law firm and went to Kelly Corporation.
She took the elevator to the top floor, to the president's office.
It was still the same gilded nameplate, but everything else had changed.
At that moment, a furious voice came from inside.
"A bunch of useless people! You can't even handle such a small matter. What use are you to me? Get out!"
Jessica was a bit scared; it was the first time she had heard Jack's voice like this, extremely irritable!
