Chapter 449 I'll Scold Whoever the Third Party Is (3)
Jessica felt as if her heart was being pricked by needles, causing a dense, throbbing pain.
She knew that it was impossible for them now!
However, she had promised Gerald that she would protect him and not let anyone harm him.
Even if she had to leave, she would wait until he had dealt with The Kelly Corporation's matters and had no more worries before leaving.
Jessica slowly revealed a faint smile and said, "Rose's child is also your child. It's only natural that you didn't kill your own child. I promised grandpa that I wouldn't go back on my word. I will stay with you and help you through this difficult time."
James felt a warm current flow through his entire body. He suddenly pulled her into his arms, as if he wanted to merge her into his body.
He softly murmured, "Jessica, do you know? You've become softer."
The old Jessica was like a rose with thorns, but the current Jessica seemed to have lost all her thorns.
But only Jessica knew that she hadn't become 'softer'; she simply had no choice.
Many things were beyond her control, and she could only accept them reluctantly.
After James finished eating, they went to bed early.
After being busy for so many days, the two of them embraced each other, feeling at ease, and were able to sleep soundly.
Early the next morning, they were awakened by a commotion downstairs.
Linda arrived at the villa in a hurry with Gerald's will, shouting, "Where's James? Tell him to come out!"
Olivia, frightened, quickly ran upstairs and said outside the door, "Mr. Kelly, Mrs. Kelly, that woman named Walker is here, and she seems to be looking for trouble. Do you want to see her now?"
James said coldly, "Let her wait downstairs!"
Jessica, still groggy, asked, "What's going on? Why is Linda here?"
James calmly reassured her, "You go back to sleep. I'll go check it out."
With that, he leisurely went to the bathroom to freshen up, completely unconcerned about Linda causing a scene downstairs.
Linda, left waiting downstairs, raised her voice even more, shouting, "What? Afraid to come out? You had the guts to alter Mr. Gerald Kelly's will but not the guts to admit it?"
Jessica couldn't sleep anymore. She got out of bed and hurried to the bathroom door, asking worriedly, "Should we call your dad? We can't just let her cause trouble!"
James hung up the towel and smiled slightly, as if amused by her naivety.
While getting dressed, he explained, "Do you think Linda would dare come here and shout at me without George's approval?"
Jessica suddenly understood and said, "You mean, now that her husband and son are in charge of The Kelly Corporation, she's feeling triumphant and came here to cause trouble?"
After all, Linda used to be low-key, no matter how much trouble she caused.
When did she ever dare to be this arrogant?
Jessica became even more worried and insisted on going downstairs with James.
"Be good and stay in the room."
James didn't want her involved in this mess, so he joked, "Do you really have so little faith in me? Do you think I can't handle a troublemaker?"
Jessica didn't believe him and said, "Let me go with you. Otherwise, I'll be on edge in the room."
So, James took her downstairs with him.
