Just then, her phone rang, sounding particularly abrupt in the study.
Lily was startled and quickly pressed the mute button, hurriedly leaving the study, afraid of being discovered.

Lily asked in confusion, "What is it? Why so serious?"
Jessica paused and said, "Actually, yesterday, I was out shopping and saw Jacob with a woman buying clothes. James saw it too."
Lily was stunned for a long time before she asked, "Are you sure? Was it Jacob?"
"How could I mistake Jacob? At lunch today, when you went to the restroom, I asked him, and he admitted it," Jessica reminded. "Lily, you have to be careful. You can't be so open-hearted with him. He's changed; he's not the Jacob we used to know."
Lily couldn't help but grip her phone tightly, thinking about Jacob's sweet words tonight and what he asked her to do. Now, she just felt a chill in her heart.
But then, as if comforting herself, she said, "Maybe that woman is just his friend or a client? My dad often accompanies female clients for business too."
Jessica said anxiously, "Their relationship didn't look like a client. I even took a video, but James deleted it. Lily, you have to believe me; I wouldn't harm you."
Although Lily trusted Jessica, this time it was about Jacob.
If she didn't see it with her own eyes, if she didn't catch him in the act, she wouldn't easily believe that Jacob would do such a thing.

"I'm sorry, Jacob, I can't help you with this," Lily turned her face towards the car window and said softly, "If my dad finds out I stole his files, he would be heartbroken."
Jacob's eyes darkened instantly, filled with deep disappointment.
But that expression only flashed for a moment. Then, he forced a smile, pulled her into his arms, and said softly, "It's okay, I'll think of another way. I never wanted to involve you in this. I told you, you just need to be carefree and be your little princess. I'll handle everything."
Listening to Jacob's gentle comfort, Lily suddenly remembered everything Jessica had told her last night, and her heart tightened.
