Chapter 315 So Indifferent, So Vicious (1)
Olivia couldn't take it anymore and stormed over. "How can you be so cruel? Is Mrs. Kelly really your sister? How could you do this to her?"
Pearl shot back, "If you're so loyal to her, why don't you go live with her in that damp, cold storage room? When Jessica gets kicked out of this house, you're going with her! Just wait. I won't let you off!"
Olivia, at a loss for words, couldn't argue back.
She started to worry. If Pearl really took over the house, she'd be out of a job.
Jessica stood at the door of the ward, unnoticed by the two inside.
Rose spoke sweetly, "James, I've been stuck here forever. The weather's nice today. Can you take me for a walk in the garden?"
"But it's cold outside," James said. "You should listen to the doctor and rest in the ward. Don't go anywhere."
Rose pouted. "Please, James, our baby wants some fresh air too!"
James had no choice but to agree.
With Rose's leg injured, James picked her up.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, whispering in his ear, "James, I wish you could hold me like this forever and never let go."
From Jessica's perspective, the scene looked way too intimate.
Her eyes stung, and her resolve to leave James grew stronger.
Even without Rose pressuring her, she couldn't stand sharing her husband with someone else.
Love was supposed to be unique and selfish.
If James had an illegitimate child, she would divorce him too.
Plus, John was still in prison; she couldn't afford to hesitate any longer.
James placed Rose in the wheelchair and had just pushed her to the door when he saw Jessica standing there.
James looked shocked, suddenly panicked. "What are you doing here?"
Jessica pretended not to know about Rose's situation and questioned, "Didn't you say you sent her abroad? Why is she here? Why are you two so cozy?"
She tried to act unreasonable, hoping James would give up on her and divorce her.
Meanwhile, James was afraid Jessica would upset Rose, making her even less likely to spare John.
So, he frowned and said, "Jessica, let's talk about this at home."
"Why talk at home?" Jessica shouted. "I want you to tell me now! Are you scared? You said you cut ties with her, but what are you doing now?"
Rose immediately caught on to Jessica's plan.
She mocked Jessica in her mind, 'What a coward! She doesn't dare to play tricks and is trying to make James hate her. How funny!'
With that thought, she played along with Jessica, saying pitifully, "James, you should just tell her the truth! She'll find out sooner or later."
James knew it was impossible to hide it from Jessica any longer.
So, he told her about John causing Rose's leg injury, hoping she would understand why Rose was still here, and he had to take care of her.
Unexpectedly, Jessica pointed at Rose and said, "She deserved it! Who does she think she is, going after my husband? She deserved it!"
James was completely taken aback by Jessica's reaction.
He said incredulously, "Your dad deliberately hit Rose, and now her legs are almost useless. How can you have this attitude? Don't you feel any guilt at all?"
"Why just break her legs? He should have hit her so hard that she lost the baby too!" Jessica exclaimed.
