Chapter 590 James and Jessica Will Meet Soon (2)

"And you know what? This doctor is only about twenty years old. Everyone says she's just a gimmick for Ocean City Hospital, with a fancy degree from abroad but no real skills."

James asked, incredulously, "Only twenty? And she's supposed to be an expert?"

"Yeah, isn't it ridiculous?"

Rose snorted and said, "She has no skills but a big attitude. I was so mad I just took Isaac and left. No one coming out of her office had anything good to say about her. She doesn't deserve to treat our Isaac."

Even though she was exaggerating to slander Jessica, Rose genuinely didn't believe that someone like Jessica could cure Isaac.

Isaac's condition had been deemed hopeless by experts in their fifties and sixties, let alone someone like Jessica.

So, Rose didn't hesitate to badmouth this so-called 'Susan' in front of James.

And James didn't have any doubts.

After all, if this doctor really had any skills, Rose wouldn't risk Isaac's life.

It seemed the hope they had clung to was gone again.

James's disappointment was palpable.

He sighed and said, "If this one doesn't work out, so be it. I'll keep looking for experts. Isaac's illness must be cured. None of us can give up."

Rose felt a slight relief in her heart.

Luckily, James didn't suspect anything.

Ocean City was big enough that as long as Jessica didn't remember, she and James would have little chance of meeting again.

But even so, Rose still felt uneasy.

The next day, while James was away on a business trip, she went alone to the Skyline Club.

She passed through a secret passage in the basement to another hidden and complex area, where one room housed the comatose Ambrose.

Rose walked into the room and looked at the unconscious Ambrose, a cold smile forming on her lips.

Years ago, when Ambrose found out that Jessica had fled because of Rose's schemes, he nearly killed her.

In a moment of desperation, he revealed Jessica's true identity.

That's when Rose learned that Jessica was Ambrose's long-lost sister.

Seeing that Ambrose was ready to confess everything to James to avenge Jessica, Rose was terrified, thinking her end was near.

But fate had other plans. That night, Ambrose was ambushed by enemies and shot in the back of the head.

Fortunately, the bullet didn't penetrate his brainstem, missing by a bit, which saved his life.

But since then, Ambrose had been in a coma.

Ambrose's close associates knew about his relationship with Rose, so they naturally treated her as the boss and followed her orders.

Rose continued to give them hope, promising to fulfill Ambrose's wishes and help him take over the Kelly Family's business.

At that moment, Ambrose's trusted aide, Cameron Simmons, approached respectfully and asked, "Rose, is there something you need?"

Rose immediately put on a sorrowful expression, touching Ambrose's face, and said, "Ambrose has been asleep for five years and still hasn't woken up. Every time I see him, I wonder what will happen to Isaac and me in the future."

"Rose, don't be so pessimistic. Stay positive," Cameron said confidently. "Even though Mr. Mellon is in this state now, we will never give up on him. We are at your service! In the future, we will follow your orders without question. You can count on us."
