Jessica finally showed a smile and said, "Thank you."
James let out a disappointed sigh, feeling completely controlled by Jessica!
After returning, he told her to eat first and then quickly ran to the bathroom to take a cold shower, finally calming down his pent-up desires.

He answered the call, and Sean's voice came through, "Mr. Kelly, bad news. The news about you acquiring The Evans Corporation has reached the board. At this critical time, we can't afford any mistakes."
James was well aware of everything Sean was saying.
But after years in the business world, James had developed a calm and composed demeanor.
He calmly instructed, "Continue with the acquisition plan. Arrange for more people to monitor the board's movements. And keep an eye on Jack as well. Report to me immediately if anything happens."
Sean didn't dare say more and could only follow the orders.
At that moment, Jessica walked in with a tray of food.
James put his phone aside and looked at her with deep eyes.
Jessica quickly explained, "I came to bring you dinner and accidentally overheard your call."
James didn't seem to blame her and instead asked, "Do you have something to say to me?"
Jessica looked at him pleadingly and said, "Can you not acquire my dad's company? He founded it with so much effort. If The Kelly Corporation acquires it, all his hard work over the years will be gone."
James thought of Michael's determined look and his resolute words and said, "There's nothing to discuss about this. Jessica, you should know that everything has its limits. Remember, I won't harm you or the people most important to you. I have my reasons for doing this."
Jessica thought of John's resolute words. He had said that even if the company was destroyed and The Evans family lost everything, he would never bow down to James.
She bit her lip and hesitated, "But my dad..."
James suddenly interrupted her, his voice stern, "Enough! You're always thinking about your dad. When will you think about me? For all you know, your proud father might have blood on his hands. The money he used to start the company might have come from ruining other families!"

Jessica was furious and said angrily, "Don't slander my dad! He's a good man, and every penny he earned was clean. I've been married to you for two years, and The Evans family has never asked you for anything. If you don't want to help, fine, but don't slander my dad!"
