Chapter 86 James Arrives

Kevin thought, 'Once I get Jessica, she'll regret it!'

Louisa snapped, "Jessica, where are your manners? You can't talk to a guest like that!"

Joan quickly jumped in, "Let it go. Jessica didn't mean it."

As she spoke, Joan handed Jessica a drink, "Here, have some juice. I know you don't drink alcohol. Eat up; I made all this myself."

Jessica eyed the drink and the table full of food. She noticed Kevin's greedy look and the nervous faces of Pearl and Joan. They were all waiting for her to drink the juice.

But Jessica wasn't falling for it again. Last time, they tricked her, and it ended badly. This time, she made up her mind that she wouldn't touch a morsel or a drop of anything they offered.

Kevin got anxious as she stayed still. He put his hand on her leg, rubbing it, "Jessica, it's our first meeting; let's have a drink together."

Jessica glared at his hand, gritted her teeth and shouted, "Get it off!"

Kevin wasn't scared. Everyone in the room was on his side. He got bolder and moved his hand up her thigh.

Suddenly, Jessica stood up and dumped the juice on his bald head.

"You!" Kevin jumped up, drenched, glaring at her.

Jessica sneered, "Feeling sober now?"

But then Kevin's eyes flashed with anger, and he slapped her.

He cursed, "Bitch! You're lucky I even look at you!"

Jessica was stunned. She couldn't believe he hit her in the Evans' house.

Louisa didn't stop him; she apologized, "Sorry, we didn't raise her well. Jessica, apologize to Kevin now!"

Joan wiped Kevin's face and clothes, "Let's talk this out. Don't scare Jessica."

Jessica felt humiliated. She scanned everyone at the table, ready to leave.

Louisa yelled, "If you don't apologize to Kevin, you're not leaving!"

Just then, a maid came in and whispered to Louisa, "There's a man outside who says he's Miss Jessica Evans's husband."

Louisa was shocked, "What? You mean James?"

The maid nodded, "I think so. He said his last name is 'Kelly.'"

Louisa panicked. She looked at the mess and didn't know what to do. She wasn't sure about James's attitude toward Jessica.

But James was here, and Louisa couldn't keep him waiting. She told the maid to invite him in.

Louisa quickly said to Kevin, "Kevin, I'm really sorry. Maybe you should leave for now. We have an important guest coming. Can we have the room?"

Kevin snorted, pointing to his soaked clothes, "You're just kick me to the curb without an explanation? You invited me here! What about this?"

As they argued, James walked in.
