Chapter 533 Don't Look for Me Again (3)
Jessica trembled in his arms and choked out, "My baby has a home now. I was really scared before, thinking he wouldn't have a father. I was ready to be a single mom."
James felt both heartache and anger. He cupped her cheeks, making her look into his eyes, and said seriously, "You should have told me about this when you found out, instead of keeping it all inside. You'll only hurt yourself that way, you know?"
Jessica complained aggrievedly, "You didn't believe me at first. You thought I complained to Grandpa and hurt Rose's child. What if I had told you then and you didn't accept him? What would I have done?"
Regret and guilt surged in his heart.
James held her, gently patting her back, and said, "Alright, alright, it's all my fault. Let's not talk about the past, okay? From now on, there will be no Rose in our lives, only you, me, and our baby."
Jessica smiled through her tears, realizing that her love for him had never faded.
It was just that, because of Rose, she had never dared to take this step. She restrained her feelings for him, fearing that one day she wouldn't be able to extricate herself from this relationship.
Now, he had given her enough security and stability.
And she could finally boldly tell him how much she longed for the three of them to live happily together.
Rose quickly arrived at the Skyline Club. The manager greeted her skillfully, "Rose, are you here to see our boss today? He's been traveling around the world lately, very busy. He probably won't be back for a few days!"
Rose already despised Ambrose, so it was even better that he wasn't there.
The manager eagerly led the way for Rose, saying, "Rose, the boss instructed us to take good care of you since you're pregnant. How about I send a driver to take you home?"
"No need. Where are the Evans mother and daughter?"
Rose sneered, "I heard they're doing quite well here?"
The manager chuckled meaningfully, "You know, these two have been working hard! They've made quite a bit for themselves and our club. So, are you here to see them? I'll call them for you."
"Wait!"
A calculating look flashed in Rose's eyes. She then whispered something in the manager's ear.
After she finished, she patted the manager's shoulder and said, "Do a good job, and I'll make sure Ambrose knows. You'll be well rewarded!"
"Thank you, Rose. With your word, I'd even give my head!"
The manager nodded and bowed as he went to carry out Rose's instructions.
Rose sat quietly in the chair, her gaze cold and venomous, like a vengeful spirit from hell.
Even if she ended up in hell, she would drag Jessica and that child down with her!
The Evans family.
Since John died and Jessica was driven away, Louisa had become all alone.
The maid who had served her for years gently advised, "Mrs. Evans, you should rest! At your age, you can't keep exhausting yourself like this."
"How can I sleep?"
Louisa wiped her tears, thinking of John.
Then, she said angrily, "If it weren't for Jessica, how would I have ended up so lonely? John is dead, and Joan and Pearl were also harmed by Jessica and disappeared. I've always said Jessica brings bad luck. Sooner or later, she'll be the death of us all!"
