Chapter 170 He Used the Most Direct and Brutal Way to Rescue Her (2)

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Jack's voice sharp and angry. His glare could melt steel, aimed right at Pearl. "You had a miscarriage. That's on you! What's it got to do with Jessica? Everyone, do not heed her nonsensical ravings. This has nothing to do with Jessica! If anyone's to blame, it's me!"

He'd had enough. Pearl had thrown everything into chaos, and he was ready to see it through.

But while he could handle the fallout, he would protect Jessica.

Meanwhile, James, standing nearby, had been watching for a while. His gaze grew colder, a storm brewing in his eyes.

Rose, watching with barely concealed excitement, sensed James's mounting fury. She knew him well—possessive, proud, and unforgiving of betrayal. Seeing Jessica caught in this mess, especially with Jack, was enough to ignite his temper.

Feigning innocence, Rose sidled up to James, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. "James, did Miss Evans really do all this? I can't believe it."

But before she could stir the pot, James shot her a look so cold it took her breath away. She recoiled, startled, realizing she might have miscalculated.

James had never looked at her like that before.

Just when she thought Pearl would keep making a scene, she saw James take out his phone and give some low-voiced instructions.

Soon, several bodyguards in black came in and forcibly escorted Jack and Pearl out.

Seeing this, Rose understood clearly. Even though James hadn't said anything, he was helping Jessica out of the situation in the most brutal yet effective way.

Everyone had been watching, feeling satisfied and still caught up in the earlier argument.

The host awkwardly tried to keep the ball going. But many were still thinking about Pearl's revelations.

The Kelly family, the top family in Ocean City, turned out to be so disgraceful inside.

Though Pearl and Jack had been escorted out, Jessica had become the subject of everyone's gossip.

She knew how disheveled and disgraceful she looked after being splashed with wine by Pearl.

Lily said worriedly, "Jessica, let me go to the restroom with you to clean up?"

Jessica had put on beautiful makeup, but unfortunately, she ran into the crazy Pearl, who made her look like this.

"No need, I'll go by myself." Jessica's voice was firm as she barely glanced at her dress.

She needed a moment to collect herself, away from the chaos and prying eyes. Without waiting for a response, she headed straight to the restroom.

Inside, the cool water against her skin was a small comfort. She was trying to wash away the turmoil of the night and dabbed at the wine stains on her dress with paper towels.

Sighing deeply, she steeled herself and stepped out of the restroom, her shoulders squared with exhaustion.

As she walked past a nearby lounge, a sudden force yanked her inside. Panic flared, and she opened her mouth to scream, but a strong hand clamped over it.

"It's me," James whispered, his voice low and gloomy.
