Chapter 586 Susan Difficult to Schedule (2)
In the clinic, Jessica had just finished seeing a young patient and was explaining the condition to the family.
The child's father was on the verge of tears, choking up as he said, "Jessica, thank you so much. We were almost out of hope and thinking about heading back to the countryside. Thanks for making this expensive medication affordable for us. No matter what happens, we have no regrets now."
Jessica smiled warmly and said, "Make sure to complete the hospital admission procedures for your child tomorrow. I've already reserved a bed for you."
After this patient left, Jessica called the next patient's name, but no one came in.
Her time was extremely valuable, with many people still waiting in line. She didn't want to waste a single minute.
Just then, the sound of an argument erupted outside.
A nurse hurriedly ran in.
"What's going on?" Jessica frowned. "Why is it so noisy out there?"
The young nurse, flustered, said, "A woman outside tried to cut in line with her child. But the next patient has been waiting since early morning, so of course, they're upset. Now both sides are arguing."
Jessica immediately said, "What's there to argue about? Whoever was in line first gets seen. If that woman didn't wait in line, have security escort her out. Do I really need to teach you this?"
"Jessica, it's not that simple," the nurse said awkwardly. "The woman said she had already spoken with the hospital director and other leaders. Our head nurse also received a message about it. She asked if you could see them first."
"No," Jessica refused without hesitation. "Everyone here has traveled long distances with their children and waited in line for hours. Why should she get special treatment?"
The nurse hesitated, then said reluctantly, "Jessica, you just returned from abroad, so you might not be familiar with these social nuances. After all, the hospital leadership personally made the request. It's hard to ignore their face."
Jessica glanced at her and said, "I'll go see for myself. Who is this person?"
Meanwhile, Rose stood at the door with Isaac, arguing fiercely with a man.
The man, speaking in a local Ocean City accent, shouted at Rose, "Do you know how long we've been waiting? Since four in the morning, over six hours! Even if you were the President, you'd still have to wait in line. If you don't, look at all these people behind you. Do you think they'll agree?"
The man's words fueled the anger of all the waiting patients, who began to criticize Rose for cutting in line.
But Rose held her head high and said arrogantly, "Name your price. I'll compensate each of you ten thousand dollars. Is that enough? If not, how about twenty thousand dollars?"
She couldn't believe that these people wouldn't bow to money.
But things didn't go as she expected.
The patients, filled with righteous indignation, shouted, "Can money buy our children's lives? We're all here for medical treatment. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can do whatever you want!"
