Chapter 240 Jessica, I Like You, I Love You!

James could tell from her expression and questions that she already knew something. He was startled.

"Who told you?" James's face darkened, anger simmering. He had warned Kylie to keep quiet, but she must've told Jessica everything.

Jessica's tears fell, her voice trembling as she accused him, "If Rose hadn't come to the hospital today to show off, I'd still be clueless! What do you want? Are you waiting for her to have the baby so you can play happy family? James, this is too much!"

Her body shook with rage, her sobs breaking through her composure. James stepped forward, hugging her tightly, whispering, "I'm sorry, Jessica, I’m sorry."

"Don't say 'I'm sorry' anymore!" Jessica shoved him away, shaking her head. "Why did you lie to me? Were you afraid I wouldn't agree to the divorce? Or that I'd hang on to you? I won't. I'll give you your freedom, and I'll take mine too!"

James trembled slightly. Jessica was right there, but it felt like she was slipping away. Her sobs cut deeper than he could bear. Explanations and apologies seemed worthless now.

Jessica covered her face, sobbing, "James, please stop torturing me! Just let me go!"

"Then who will let me go?" James gripped her shoulders, saying slowly, "You say I'm torturing you, but haven't you realized I like you, that I love you!"

Jessica's heart skipped a beat. He said he loved her. If she had heard this before, she would've been ecstatic. But now, it felt cheap and ironic.

Jessica laughed coldly, "You said the same thing to Rose, didn't you? If you didn't love her, how could you forgive her after she lied to you and still be with her? James, how many people have you loved?"

James took a deep breath, releasing her shoulders and looking at the dark sky outside. His voice was hoarse, filled with regret. "Rose and I only had one time. I was drunk, someone drugged me. I don't even know how it happened."

Jessica covered her ears, shouting, "Don't tell me this. I don't want to hear it! No matter how many times you were with her, she has your child now!"

"Give me some time." James moved toward her, trying to close the gap. His eyes bore into hers, "Let me handle it. This will be over soon. I won't let Rose disturb our lives, okay?"

Jessica was heartbroken. She leaned against the door, sobbing, "She has already disturbed my life, my work. How do you plan to handle it? Will you cut ties with her completely? Will you abandon her child?"

"I will," James's voice was light but resolute. "As long as you stop fighting with me and stop talking about divorce, I will handle this as soon as possible."
