Chapter 38 Sleeping Elsewhere

For a moment, shame and embarrassment intertwined.

In the end, Jessica blushed and lowered her head, speaking softly, "Just put me on the toilet."

James remained silent this time as well, gently placing Jessica by the toilet before turning around to face away from her.

His tall figure blocked Jessica's view but couldn't shield her from the invisible pressure.

Seeing that he had no intention of leaving, Jessica had no choice but to pretend he wasn't there and take care of her physiological needs.

In the silent bathroom, only the sound of running water was clearly audible, amplifying Jessica's current awkwardness and shame.

If James were to look at Jessica at this moment, he would see her face flushed red like a ripe apple, tempting one to take a bite.

Rustling sounds came from behind, and Jessica tried hard to ignore the burning gaze until everything was settled. She then said softly, "I'm done."

James snapped back to reality, seeing Jessica already standing there. He then gently lifted her and placed her on the bed.

His movements were gentle, as if handling a fragile treasure, afraid of hurting her.

From the moment James carried Jessica upstairs, no matter what Jessica said, he remained silent.

"I'm fine now. You can go about your business."
Jessica looked at James. If possible, she didn't want James to stay here any longer.
She knew clearly that all of this was because of James's guilt.
But this guilt wasn't much; if she hadn't been injured, James probably wouldn't care so much about her.
As Jessica was thinking, James walked back in.
He was holding a change of clothes.
Under Jessica's gaze, he walked into the bathroom.
Moments later, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.

Jessica was a bit surprised; she didn't expect him to take a shower here.

Looking at the frosted bathroom window, she could vaguely see James's figure.

All she could think about was James's naked body, making her feel a wave of heat and blush.

"Why is he showering here?" Jessica murmured, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

Half an hour later, James opened the bathroom door once again.

His wet hair was still dripping, and he was wearing only a bathrobe.

The neckline was open wide, revealing his well-defined chest and abs.

Just one glance made Jessica instinctively turn her head away, not daring to look any further, as if another look would burn her.

Seeing Jessica like this, James found it very amusing, the smile in his eyes growing deeper.

Feeling playful, he deliberately slowed his steps, walking towards Jessica one step at a time.

"Are you shy?" James's voice was deep and magnetic, with a hint of teasing.

Jessica didn't speak; she just turned her head to the other side, trying to hide her panic.

His gaze fell on her injured arm, and James had to give up, suppressing his playful thoughts.

Despite this, he was still in a good mood.

After drying his hair, he got into bed as well.

He stretched out his big hand and pulled Jessica into his arms.

There was a faint fragrance at the tip of his nose, a mix of shower gel and her light body scent, particularly enticing.
